Since I do not know what router your using go to the web page I believe it is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 this will bring you to your routers page then you can go to the wireless section and disable it. Also if you are using a wireless connection that you can manage with a switch process such as those on lap tops you can turn those switches off as well. Thanks for using FixYa! Do not forget to place a good vote for me as well John

Trouble printing from wired connections but wireless users are working fine

Its possible that in ap mode it cant handle wired and wireless and that the wired connection takes priority of the only available ip address, thus the wireless cards cant get an ip and so cant connect.

of course that could be b*****s but you never know.

yes i know you said it works fine when using xp pro so maybe the router doesnt release the ip correctly with win7.

any chance of installing a wifi card from one of the xp machines into the win7 machine just to test it?

can you test connecting one of the xp machines with wired and see if the other can connect using wireless?

So please You will have to reboot your router and all the wireless XP systems, while the Win 7 system is off. You may have to reboot the router once in a while. Not the most elegant solution, but this is the only way my XP systems with wireless would work.

What exactly is the issue?

Do you want to connect it to laptop via wire cable or Wireless.

For wired it maynot need any configuration but for Wireless it will surely need one.

Cant find wireless butoon?how do i switch it on????

it's not a button you need to conect to the internet through a wired connection and run windows update to update your wifi card driver. i know it says it's switched off but for some reason it says that when you have the wrong driver. the button next to your power button is to turn on hp wireless manager or helper or whatever they call it. it's a pain but to go wireless you need to go wired first. once you've updated you need to wait for about 5 mins after your laptop reboots and the orange wireless button will turn blue

Can't switch on my wireless lan in my hcl me netbook .where is the wlan swith located .

Usually the wireless switch is located on the sides of the system, if you cant see it there. In front. and if you already turn on the wireless switch and you cant still connect. Look for the function keys. Usually it would be FN and F6. When you press those two keys at the same time. You should see a pop up window. Check if the current status is on. If it is on and you cant still connect. Uninstall and reinstall the wireless driver and try to connect again. If this didn't work, you can contact your computer manufacturer or do a clean installation.

Cant connect to 2wire dsl cant see network wirelessnot switched ?

firstly does it have a wireless indicator somewhere on the laptop?

most of the indicators located next to bluetooth switch and other indicates. once you identify the indicated then you can solve this problem.

check you wireless network settings. if not the device is disabled or drivers not installed.

if your device is ok, then you check the software for the wireless network. most computers do not indicate that the wireless device is working, try to install a wireless application driver for your laptop and try connecting it a wireless device to see if there is any connectivity.

thank you
