Start up with no problem. It does fine as long as i do not give full gas. Only then does it choke.

It sounds like the spark arrestor screen in the muffler is clogged with carbon. You may have to look at the muffler to find where the spark arrestor screen is. It is in a different place on each brand of trimmer. You can clean the spark arrestor screen after it is out or off of the muffler by burning it with a propane or similar torch. This will cause the carbon to get hot enough to ash off of the screen. Then you can put it back in the carburetor.
Fuel mix is too heavy on oil, or if you run the trimmer at half throttle a lot this can cause the carbon buildup.
I hope this answers your question.

WHEN YOU GIVE A CARB CHOKE, IT RESTRICTS AIR FLOW AND GIVING THE ENGINE MORE GAS INSTEAD OF A REQUIRED MIXTURE... USUALLY THIS IS FOR STARTING IN COLD TEMPS. UNTIL THE ENGINE WARMS UP AND YOU RETURN THE CHOKE BACK TO NORMAL. THAT IS ALL THE CHOKE DOES.... IT DOES NOT MAKE THE ENGINE RUN BETTER BECAUSE YOU THINK IT WILL.

Because the engine need more air to burn the gas.

Wont start what is spark plug gap whatelse bulb full, new, gas in it,lines hooked

These are bad about flooding with the least amount of trying to. I usually can get mine started by letting it sit for 5-10 min. push the bulb 3-4 times hold the trigger and push the choke on full with 3/4 speed set. Pull 1x. Don't worry usually it won't start on this setting, it really just helps get the choke and carb set. Put choke back 1/2 way and try to start, if so, gas the trigger a couple of times but not holding in down. If it don't start put the choke on full again and try to start without holding the trigger. It should start after this. Take the plug out replace the coil wire onto plug and pull the cord gently to see if you're getting spark at the plug. Holding the coil boot to prevent it giving a small jolt.

It will not start about 1 in 10 times. It will start after letting sit for a day or 2. It is not flooded and is getting gas. It seems to start hard most of the time

this could be the auto choke playing you up,,,
try giveing it one full pump on the throttle pedal befour you try to start it up from cold,,,doing this pulls the choke on full before you start cranking the engine over

It wont start

First, make sure that the gas mixture is correct (gas and oil mixed in the right proportion). Next, press the primer bulb 3-4 times, turn the choke lever on to Full Choke, and pull the starter cord until the engine seems like to wants to start, but dies. Next, switch the choke lever to Half Choke and start the gas trimmer, giving it gas by pulling on the trigger. Once it has warmed up fully, you may be able to reduce the Half Choke to No Choke, although my 20+ years of experience with dozens and dozens of models tells me that many trimmers run better, although smoking slightly, when you keep them at Half Choke. One last tip, when pulling the cord, try pushing the trimmer away from you with the opposite hand at the exact same time that you are pulling the starter cord--the equal and opposite push-pull technique may sound like something from karate (and it is, in a way), but it is really helpful when trying to start trimmers. Best of luck, Bill

PS: Check you owner's manual (at home or online) for the proper gas/oil mixture. Empty any old gas out and replace the spark plug, if required.
