First verify that the computer has wireless capability. If it is a laptop, insure it has a wireless modem installed internally if not you will need either an internal modem or a USB modem. If you have a desktop verify it has wireless capability. You will have either a PCI or USB modem for standard devices. The modem, depending on what type of operating system you are using - assuming its windows you can access the through start menu' right click computer' select properties then locate device manager. Under network adapters check that the modem and drivers are installed and working correctly (look for yellow exclamation marks or red X's, these are signs of a problem). If all is ok, then for a standard LAN connection for use with auto DHCP, open network and sharing center either through the start menu or from your task bar and look under active networks 'connect to etc..... and find your personal router then connect with whatever means of security (usually WEP, WPA, WPA2 etc..) if you have any security required to connect. If still no access go to start menu' control panel' internet options, on the top of the active window click the tab labeled connections, and look for a tab or button labeled LAN click to open and verify that a only a check mark is in the box "automatically detect settings". If still no luck contact the support team for your router and/or pc manufacturer.

Unable to print from repeated wireless network

If you have done it properly there is no need to bridge networks because there should only be one. The entire idea of a repeater is to simply pick up the signal from the first router and rebroadcast the signal. If you had included the model of the repeater I could have been more specific but as it is, read this: Linksys Official Support Configuring an Access Point as wireless repeater

Do I need any special equipment other than the ethernet cable connection for my linksys broadband wireless-g router

That's all you need to get your wireless internet up and running. However, in order to connect computers to the wireless network, they must be wireless capable, for example, most laptops have built in wifi, however desktops will need a wireless adapter to take advantage of your wireless router.

Hey guys could i use my router as a radio to pull the internet signal from a next router without using any cable

With the Linksys router it is not possible. You will need to connect the cable between the two routers. Linksys router will not pick up the wireless signal from the other wireless router.
May be it will work If you upgrade the DD-WRT Firmware. Not sure but it may. consult with the DD-WRT expert before upgrading the firmware.

Can i connect a cricket broadband to linksys router

Not directly, you need to connect a Modem, to the actual Broadband connection, and connect that to the "Router" then you connect, through, the Router, out through the Modem to the broadband connection.

Linksys Wireless-G2.4 GHz Broadband that my laptop doesnn't recog

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

If that doesn't work then upgrade the firmware of the router.
Firmware is the software of the router. After upgrading the firmware, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure the router.

HOW TO USE INTERNET IN MORE THAN ONE PC FROM LINKSYS WIRELESS G B

You have two ways on how you can get other computer online through this router. First, you can wired them (using an Ethernet cable) to one of the Ethernet ports on the back of the router. They are the ones labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Second is through wireless, but those computers that will connect through wireless must also have a wireless adapter to be able to pick up the signal that this router is broadcasting.

I am running qwest DSL through a Linksys wrt160N that is brand new. it will work next to the router, but not upstairs or in the basement which is less than 15 meters. The upstairs bedroom is directly above...

If you have concrete floor slabs the the wireless signal from the Linksys will have a difficult time penetrating the floor slabs.
The wireless card in the computers will show a low signal strength.
Try altering the Linksys aerial to a horizontal position and also positioning the Linksys to another location.

You could be getting interference form other wireless sources, check the wireless channels of other wireless router/access points in your area. If they are broadcasting on the same channel then configure your Linksys to broadcast on an unused channel or one that has the weakest signal strength.
If none of these methods work then I would suggest you run network cables from the Linksys to upstairs and downstairs and not use the wireless connection.
If network cabling option is not an option then consider extending the wireless range with wireless repeater access points.

Wirelss router not working

I don't think it needs to be replaced. have you installed the installation disk that came with it, if so

if you have windows
1. go to my computer
2. click on the my network places tab on the left panel
3. then click set up a wireless network for a home or small office
4. then jut follow the wizard set by set.

if that doesn't work, make sure your computer's wireless adapters are able to pick up your router's N broadband signals. if not you might need to go out and buy wireless N adapters for all your computers.

Linksys Wireless-G 2.4Ghz Broadband Router Problem

You have to check if your computer can connect to the modem with an Ethernet cable. This will tell you if the ethernet port on the modem is working. if that does not work call your cable provider.

Next thing after you get the instructions above done.

Press the reset button on the back of the router> press it in for 30 seconds then let go and pull out the power. Connect the router up the way it should be before you reset by the way. check if you have internet if you do not follow hte directions at teh link below.
