What you are looking for is a setting in the phone system, not the phone. You could have one of several different Panasonic phone systems that all program differently. Your first step is to find out which phone system you have. The part number should start with "KX-T" Then you will need a programming manual for the phone system.

SOURCE: i need to add voice mail to my phone. Do you have a manual?

I assume you mean you want to add your voicemail's phone number to your phone for a quick dial.

1. Menu

2. use the Review arrow keys and go to VM Code; press Select/Save

3. for Line 1 voicemail, press Select/Save then enter the voicemail's phone number. (Note there is a Pause/Redial button on the left of the keypad if you need to add pauses.)

4. Press Select/Save

5. Exit to get out of the menu.

How do I change our recorded message on our Panasonic KX-T7630? Its an old system and I have downloaded manual but it has no instructions. Any help would be appreciated many thanks

Hi Caroline, this kx-t760 doesn't have a answering machine function. This is why you can't find it in the user manual.
I can not take credit for this answer as it was answered in sep 2009
The panasonic KX-t7630 doesnt have a answering machine and runs through voice mail.. if you have voice mail set up simple dial your number for voice mail (eg. 500) press 311, then record greeting at the end of tone. hope that helps.

page 16 of the manual below may be useful to you as it has the voice mail access codes listed
Have a Happy New Year Caroline and I hope you find the answer you are looking for.

We have a Panasonic KX T7436 phone in our office but the manual doesn't tell us how to change the voicemail message for when the phone isn't answered. Can you assist?

It doesn't tell you because the voice mail system is a separate part of the TD system. There are instructions provided with the Voice Mail system. In a Panasonic brand TVX you access it by dialing 165 and control it from either the serial port, a USB port, or mailboxes 998 and 999. 998 and a set of instructions give you access to message recording. If you don't have the instructions, you need to contract whoever set it up or find the MESSAGE MANAGER guide.

Rather than play GuessYa, comment back with the VM model number. It's either a smaller white or black/blue box mounted near the main phone system cabinet.

Hello, I need to change our Company greeting. I can only figure out how to change the the greeting at the extensions.

If you have a Panasonic brand voice mail system, the company greetings are administered from mailbox 998. The problem is, you need a guide or just have to start looking for where the greetings are stored. A basic TVS-95 has 32 company greeting and 100 custom message slots. We keep ours in Custom service 30, 60, and 40 for Day, Night and Holiday with sub menus going in the digit dialed (ie Day option 3 message is 33), but not everybody does that. A lazy man might just start at 1.

You can find the administrators manual for your particular voice processing system online if you don't have one.

Hello i have a Panasonic KX-T7420 phone. how do i listen to the messages? thanks

Which ones? A Pana brand VM has an access code of 165. Your personal messages are in your box, the system messages (General Delivery Mailbox) are in mailbox 998. When you dial 165, you're automatically in your box. Mailbox 998 has a special access code that you dial and use to retrieve messages. We try to prevent messages from being dropped into the GDM, but it happens.

We acquired a phone system with our new building and I want to get the old owners message off the machine but I don't know their login. Is there a way for me to do a hard reset on the phone system? Its a...

A Panasonic 7433 is just a phone. It plugs into a Panasonic TD phone system and the voice mail system, probably a TVS, connects to the same TD system. Look at the box. Underneath or on the lower right side is either a DB-9 or DB-25 serial connector. If you don't have ANY passwords, you need to set up a PC running terminal software and try to log into the VM system itself. The default password is 1234, but if that doesn't work, you're going to have to default the voice mail and start over.

A Panasonic dealer can initialize the system and reprogram it in about an hour or less or you can grab an installation manual and try it yourself. No matter how you look at it, you're going to need to read the database if you can't find the installer's notes. There are 100 custom service menu locations and 32 company greetings that lurk in the system.

Cannot go to voice mail to check my old voice mail from PANASONIC kx-t7630

If your old phone was an extension on the system and it is a TVA voice mail product, you dial the VM access code (usually 500) and when it answers you dial #6 * and your old extension.
You now appear as you would have if you had pressed MESSAGE or dialed 500 from your old phone.

Need to change the main greeting in the company voice mail

The voice mail comes from an external box to the TD phone system cabinet. If it's Panasonic branded, it could be any one of several models designed to work on the TD product. The white boxes are TVS models in the U.S. (50,80,90,100,125,225 etc) the blue/black boxes are the newer TVA models (50,200). Each VM has the abillity for at least 100 "custom" greetings and, in some cases 32 company greetings. We use specific custom menus in the TVS product, but not in the TVA product because a TVA is set up visually.

Both models record and change greetings from mailbox 998, the message manager's mailbox. Once you get there, you choose option 5 then some other number like 4 for custom greetings and change the greeting (1-100) by following the prompts. Which one and how you get there is a lot easier if you have a manual.

So, since it's beyond the scope of a free forum, and you didn't post which VM you have, either consult your installer, manual, or comment back with your VM model number and I can give you a link to a manual.
If you absolutely want to do this yourself, you will need a computer with a serial port and a terminal program to access the TVS systems, or a USB port and maintenance software for a TVA.

Have a message light on my kx t7436 and can not get rid of it

It's probably trying to tell you that 208 (an XDP from 108) left a message.

Just try clearing it by 700 plus your ext on the intercom and see if it goes away.
