If you have other Optical Drive in your computer like a CDwriter then installed it where that LG 52x CDROM drive. Observe if the same problem occur after 2 or 3 hours. Try connecting the CDROM drive to the IDE ports (Secondary IDE port) like setting its jumper to Master. Ensure that the connection to its power supply is firm. Change the setting of your POWER OPTIONS which is under the CONTROL PANEL and change the setting for TURN-OFF HARD DISK to NEVER.

SOURCE: My camera did not flash properly
All of these little point and shoot cameras work the same way.
Go to the menus reset all to default.
check the camera again...see what happens.
If it does not work right yet.... repair is probably needed. However the cost of repair is maybe more than it is worth.
Make sure the battery or batteries are up and new.
You may be able to sell on a site such as Ebay for parts or repair, if you cannot fix it.
To repair is complicated, and takes a good amount of time.
May be loose cable or cables inside the camera or some part is dead or broken.

The problem is most likely the door switch or the thermal limiter (non-resettable thermal fuse) mounted to the rear of the heating element. The door switch and the thermal limiter are wired in series with the motor. Power to the motor is cut when the door is open, the door is switch is bad, and/or the thermal limiter is blown open hence the dryer will not start and no dryer function works.
Check the continuity of the thermal limiter and if it reads open, it must be replaced along with the high-limit thermostat which must have cause the limiter to blow. You may bypass the thermal limiter, for troubleshooting purposes only, by putting a jumper wire across its terminals. The dryer should run and if it doesn't, either the door switch, the motor, or the electronic control has failed. Bypass the door switch by jumping a wires across the COM and NO terminals and if still doesn't run, check the continuity between the terminals M4 and M5 (windings) of the motor. The control board is faulty if the motor windings has continuity, else replace the motor.
Regarding the drying problem, make sure the lint filter is clean and the vent system is not restricted. Replace the control thermistor located on the blower housing.
