Question about Garden

1 Answer

I bought replacement blades for my John Deere 54 inch cut and they came with a round center hole and the ones already on there have a jagged center. Is there a piece to fit inside round hole to make blade snug?

I have Z445 54 inch and the middle blade. Is cutting lower than sides. The outer blades are at same height, any help?

Middle lade has probably hit stump and bent. Try moving to outer and see if this does not move problem. If you still have problem at middle look at the blade spindle bearing could have gone bad and shaft dropped.

What is the correct way to Install New Blades on John Deere G100 with 54"cutting deck

Do Ray:

I pull my machine up so the front tires are on a ramp. make sure the key is out of the ignition. Raise the deck to its top position (every little bit of room to work helps!) I think that the spindle nuts are 1 inch. lodge a two-by-four piece of wood between the tip of the blade that you are removing and the blade deck and remove the nut at the bottom of the blade (make sure you are turning your wrench in the correct direction!) It will take a two-grunt pull to loosen the nut. The blade should fall off when the nut is loosened. Make sure to not put the new blade on upside down! (Use the other two blades for reference). Repeat for the other two blades. Make sure that the blade retention nuts are Very Tight.

What would cause my John Deere Sabre 25hp 54"cut to be hard to steer ?

Your tractor has a simple worm gear turning another worm gear system.Either the one of the spindles in the front wheels is sticking or the worm gear is not meshing or you need to replace the worm gear on the steering shaft it's self. Also,if the tie rods are not set right then the wheels may turn hard, set the tie rods so that they have 1 to 1 and 3/4 inches of tow in in the front wheels.

John Deere will replace the cap for free; they acknowledge the vendor who supplied Briggs & Stratton gas caps provided faulty caps. Call 1-888-228-3068 then 1 (English), 2, 1 and a technician will ask you for model number and Serial Number (which they need to replace the cap). Don't drill a hole in your cap: debris will find a way into the gas tank and end up possibly fouling the engine. Bob from NJ
