Braun series 3 no longer holds a charge. what can I do?

It is not that young anymore. The rechargeable battery is (almost?) dead. It is almost impossible to replace it. I once tried it, took me more than a day yo put everything together and still it never was as before.
I have bought a new Braun (799) and I'm convinced this one will live longer. The rechargeable battery in this one, you can shave one hour before you need to recharge it. It lasts a week with me, or sometimes even longer, before I have to charge it again.

Perhaps you just use the shaver with the power cord, like we used to do for 20 years, and start saving for a new one?

Scratching and slight pain

Possible issues: 1. Shaver not charged 2. Shaver not powerful enough 3. Shaver's blades dulled
Try using electric shaving gels/ointments like Lectric Shave or something like that.

I get three shaves per charge

I have a couple of thoughts...

First, the amount of shaves you get is directly relevamt to the amount of time it takes you to shave. Most shavers today have a run time of about 30 minutes while there are some that are longer. If your shaver has a 30 minute run time and it takes you 5 minutes to shave, you should get about 6 shaves on a charge. If it takes you about 10 minutes to shaver, 3 shaves is all you can expect on a charge. You get the idea.

If your shaver does not hold a charge for at least 30 minutes, the batteries may be going bad. Although you mention that you just got this shaver, it was manufactured some time ago. Model R-450s has been discontinued for about two years. The batteries on lower end models like this one often dont last as many years are the older models did.

Mains shaver , speed of a battery one which is running down and no power!

solved the problem with the shaver, PhilipsHQ7300, "mains washable" took it back and went back to old ones, which when you use them seem to have the power to shave you and not sound like they are running on low battery, which as they are mains I cant understand alright they are reduced to 24 volts(for safety purposes if you wash them plugged in) but a cordless 18 volt drill sounds more powerful than the shaver I know they are 2 different things but surely a shaver should shave smooth and quick, I know things are progressing fast and the great selling point is for products "look how much time you save" but this shaver is not up to par with the older models and it certainly does not save time, so as we no longer have this item we have solved the problem thankyou
