Question about PfaFF Creative 7570

1 Answer

I have a Pfaff 1471. Last week it semed to be fine. The next day when I turned on the power switch the control panel did not come on. After turning it off and on a few times the control panel came on but would go off as soon as I stepped on the foot pedal. I was turning it off and on and accidently had my foot on the pedal when I turned it on and it started working. It worked for a few days just fine. This morning the control panel would not come on again, after trying several times it finally came on once and immediately went off again. The book mentions a fuse but mine is a 110 volt electric machine so I think my fuse is maybe on an electronic control panel. Does that sound like a loose connection or possibly a fuse that is going out. The only close (1 hour away) Pfaff dealer is one I'd rather not use. I called another shop that carries another brand . He said it would cost as much to replace the control panel as me looking at his used machines. I told him I really don't need or want a new machine. He said I could bring it in and he can look at it. He said he has had good luck in resurrecting them. I told him I thought maybe it was a loose connection or a fuse on the control board. He said that a new mother board is not available because my machine is so old. Is that because he can't get it because he is not a Pfaff dealer or are they not available? What do you think the problem is and what do you suggest?

You need a new baseplate, dont let anyone tell you different.
The control board is just a few buttons and a screen.
Yes you will need to take your machine to a pfaff shop and they will need to remove your base plate and mail it to pfaff for repair.
That is a great machine and will work better that the new machines on the market.
This repair should be around $300-$400.
Hope this helps

The flywhee on my pfaff 1471 seems to have disengaged after unsuccessfully winding a bobbin. The motor goes but the needle does not go. What to do?

Did you turn the knob inside the hand wheel backwards while holding the wheel itself? If that knob is in the correct position, did you hear it snap into place when you rotated the hand wheel towards yourself? Does the needle bar move up and down when you rotate the hand wheel?

I suspect that the needle bar is still disengaged from the motor mechanism. The manual is available from Pfaff on the creative 1471 page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Machines/creative-1471 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/creative1471-manual-EN.pdf . See page 13 of the PDF for the picture of the direction and position of the knob that should be checked.

If the machine still doesn't work, it may be that the belt is bad. This connects the shaft of the motor to the mechanism that runs the needle bar. You can find a parts list for the 1471 here: https://www.universalsewing.com/tek9.asp?pg=parts_pfaff . Scroll down to find the various 1471 diagrams. The belts are probably available at most Pfaff or other sewing machine dealers. This page, https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/pfaff-1471-sewing-machine-parts.aspx , is one source. You want the motor belt.

I hope this helps.

I took batteries out of my Pfaff 1471 without turning it on now I can not get it to do anything but a straight stitch? Did I loose all memory or what?

Oh NO! if you don't turn on the machine first, you will lose what's stored in the memories.
Sorry you will have to put them in again, the same way you did it before. Nuts!

THe wheel is frozen

Check that there are no threads tangled in the bobbin area.

Most likely it has seized from dried oil. If it is a seizure, do NOT attempt to run the motor until the machine has been loosened. Continued use could damage the motor.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

My Pfaff 1471 lights up, but does not run. This model has no fuse. I checked the foot pedal with an ohm meter, & it sends a variable signal. My house took a direct lightning strike 2 weeks ago, &...

Were the base plate pugs into the power leads, you should read about 6-18 is ohms. Open and short is a bad transformer.

Also there are fuses, 2-3 right next to the transformer, small blueish and round are the shapes. They go bad often.
