No foot switch for Elna Su (1972-78?)-can I use the foot petal from an Elna Zigzag that I have?

I'm asuming you have the integrated foot controller and power lead in one, yes these are both Swiss Tavaro made machines and should have the same plug shape so should be interchangeable. Also the bobbins should be identical, seven holes on top and dished. And the feet should be the same too.

Elna 500 electronic sewing machine parts

Nice machine made by Tavaro Switzerland who no longer operate. However you should still be able to get parts from a Elna dealer. Or try, the jubilee, 46 and 500 are same, 500 just had no hard lexcan wrap around case but internally same as jubilee I think. Its an Air Electronic model so they all had same air foot pedal, power lead and almost all the accessories are interchangeable on the Swiss made Tavaros. Low heel and clip on feet.

What kind of bobbin goes in an elna super type 62c?

Elna Tavaro SA swiss made machines all take a 720100 bobbin, looks like this

Flat on the bottom and 7 holes on top and slightly dished. Dont use anything else. You can buy them aftermarket from or any Elna dealer and I have seen them in my local Spotlight in Australia.

I have an Elnita 140 sewing machine and would like to obtain Presser Feet for it- can anyone help?

I am 90% certain that any low shank foot will fit this machine. Does your machine info plate say "made in Japan" or "made for Elna" anywhere? Is it about 30 years old? I'm pretty sure this was a "made under licence for" Elna Tavaro and that the machine is front loading bobbin model with pretty standard generic low shank feet; may be clip on too.

If this aligns with your machine, you should be able to buy low shank feet such as these at Or if they are clip on, you can just buy the foot, not foot and ankle.

The Elnita name was also used on Swiss made machines such as the 17 ZZ and I think used again recently however so it can get confusing. You could ask Elna themselves; start at, then go to your country, then "contact us" page to find a phone number of email. I have found that contacting the manufacturer/distributor in your country is often best. Or look at the images of the feet on sewingpartsonline, see if they look like what you've got on the machine now and take a chance on buying one or asking them if it would fit.

I have a Elna Air Electronic TSP machine and are looking for the manual. Type 58, no: x2414392. Where can i buy it and what is the cost? Regards, Anne-Marie Smit RSA

Hi Anne-Marie, I believe your TSP would look like this one below?
there is a manual available for download at, just search with "Elna 58 tsp" and you should find it.

There is also a great website in the USA, where there is lots of Swiss Elna manuals, accessories and spare parts for sale, really great resource as Tavaro SA no longer operates and the current Elnas are made in Asia. They do sell O/S but you may need to pay by bank draft.

I trust that this helps you with your TSP, it was a well made machine.

What make of walking foot would fit my Elna su air electronic sewing machine, thankyou

You need a low shank style walking foot. Even back in the 80's when your SU air electronic was new, the walking foot sold by Elna was an after market one, and not made by Tavaro. Same with the ruffler attachment, it was after market and actually fitted quite a few makes of machine.

I would just ask the dealer/shop if they will refund your money if you find it doesn't work just in case.

There is a low shank one on and they list the SU as compatible with it.

Take off the foot holder on your mache, and you need to fit the little open ended arm over the needle bar and the foot bracket onto the foot with your machine's regular thumb screw. The up and down movement of the needle bar operates the walking foot.
