Question about Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 SpinScrub Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Cleaned two sections of carpet, cleaned reserve tank and added water for next session and it will spray water but won't **** it up. Everything sounds fine, made sure lid was secure on reserve tank and set in place and locked down. Brenda McQuillen

Hi, make sure that the lid on the recovery tank is locked down all of the way around. Sometimes the back side isn't locked in. If the lid has a foam filter on it, make sure it has at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top of the filter to the top of the tank. There also is a filter from the bottom, it has a red frame, pull it out far enough to clean it. Also some of these had a duct that sits in front of the recovery tank, if not there, then no suction.
Have you looked at the bottom, where the water comes out and comes back in? Is it filled with hair/dirt? It might need to be cleaned out where the water sucks up in at.

Your lid is not on tight on the water collection tank it can't create a section to pull the water out. Usually take it off and putting it back on will solve the problem. good luck& God bless

Does not spray cleaner

It helps to always run hot water in the soap holding tank after you have cleaned the carpet to make sure the soap does not dry inside and clog. Make sure that the dirty tank water filter is clear of debris, I have noticed that if it is clogged it won't spray out solution. Another thing to try is, it usually will always spray out of handheld cleaning attatchment. steve

Have you tried cleaning out the small filterfrom the reserve tank? Also, check the tank/resevoir valve is operating properly, when you take it out to fill try to make water release from tank.

Steamvac quit spraying

Check the seal that the clean water tank sits on, may have come loose. The filter inside the dirty water tank has been pushed up too far, needs to have a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter.
