Question about Toshiba BDX3000 Blu-Ray Player

1 Answer

I have a Toshiba BDX3000 Blu-Ray player. All my DVD's work fine except for a set of Insanity workout videos. I insert the discs and I get an invalid disc message and the player spits it out. I spoke with Beachbody and they sent a complete replacement set and I still get the same results. Is this a common problem with certain DVD's? Looking for suggestions. Thanks

Check to make sure the workout videos aren't DIVX...I don't believe your blu-ray player will play DIVX. Good luck.

My Toshiba Blu-Ray player, BDX 2700, will start to load a movie but it stays at 00:00:00 and it won't continue or play. What's wrong?

either a mechanism problem---disc not turning etc or an electronic issue --someone would have to open the unit and insert a disc to see what is happening----also unlikely but possible the optical pickup that reads the discs is dirty or near failure---this will usually show up first on blu ray before a regular DVD.

"No disc" message when DVD inserted.

Buy a DVD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if no! the laser pickup assembly is bad, and not cost effective to repair

I have a JVC DVD Player (XV-N670B), (XV-N672S). I recently purchased a BluRay DVD and after inserting the DVD into the player, "Disc Error" appears. Would you tell me if my player can...

Sorry to say, no; this is a model limitation not a fault as such. XV-N670B is a DVD player, and the playable formats are:

DVD-Video, DVD-RW/-R, +RW/+R, CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD/VCD, WMA/MP3/JPEG, DivX. No Blu-ray support.

The JVC XV-BP11 and XV-BP1 do play Blu-Ray discs, as they are specifically Blu-Ray players (according to the JVC website).

I have heard of quite a few Blu-Ray players allowing DVD playback. The XV-BP1 supports the following playable media: BD-R/RE (Blu-Ray), DVD-Video/-R/-RW, R/ RW, CD, USB (again, this is from the same JVC website). You would need to purchase this or a similar Blu-Ray player to enjoy the benefits it has to offer (but it's up to you if you want one of those later on).

DVDs are still good, the 'disc error' message on your DVD player is normal due to the wrong media format inserted. The bonus here is it didn't cost you anything to ask, and you don't need a workshop quote on repairs.

This is the best free advice I can offer.

All of a sudden at least 50% of the Blu ray's I try to play, the display say cannot read disc. All regular discs play fine.

Have you tried upgrading the firmware to the latest? I had a similar problem and this fixed it. If you don't have your player connected to the internet you can download the firmware and burn it to a CD then insert the CD into your player. Here is the place you can download it: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Video/Blu-ray-Disc-Players/Drivers-Downloads/model.DMP-BD60K.D#ts

Its due to faulty Laser Lens/head. Try cleaning it by cleaning CD. If still the problem persists, contact near by service center.

Sony DVP-NS315 cant play only Video Disc

If you are using just a "yellow" ended cable for the video, maybe your custom settings are set to use "component"? I have been using this same dvd player for a while with the component video out and it works fine. I hope this helps.
