The only way to upgrade video on laptops is usually through an external USB video device. If you were hoping to upgrade to latest video to play games you are likely out of luck. Your machine has a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD that will use up to 1.5 gig of memory. You should get reasonable performance from that.

There is nothing wrong with the built in video support on your laptop, why are you focused on Nvidia or ATI? Have you found a game that the onboard graphics accelerator does not support? The issue with the external USB video support is the speed. You are limited by the relatively narrow bandwith or data transfer of USB compared to a standard interface that integrated or dedicated video cards use.

uhm some games are laggy and some application are slow to open i think if i put an external video card it will increase the speed or performance, thats why i want to know if it is okay or it is possible to put xternal video card., thanks.,

As stated in an earlier comment, any upgrarde would run through USB and will provide no performance advantage what so every. If applications open slowly, it is more likely you need more system memory or you have too many applications running in the back ground.

Upgrade video card

In a laptop, not going to happen. The video card is built into the motherboard of the laptops. If it where a desk top it would have been possible. The only choice would be a new laptop unless Toshiba offered a different Video option in that model laptop. In that case it would be possible if you have the proper equipment, Hot air Station and solder to put the new GPU chip in. There are so many connections on this type of chip that it is really unrealistic to attempt to replace it with a soldering iron and solder wire or anything of the like.

Would it be at all possible to put a new video card into my laptop? i have a toshiba satellite a665-s6086. Thanks in advance.

If your video card is removable, you can change it. Some laptops have this feature, so your video card can be removed and replaced. At this model I can;t find no specs in this matter. Any way , a better card, more heat, more heat bigger cooling ? so? Cooling will be the biggest problem.

Dear Friend,

Under Toshiba's customisation program you can upgrade your graphic card to
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M with NVIDIA Optimus Technology with 1GB GDDR3 memory
this would cost you about $130.

Can I upgrade the Video card on my Toshiba Satellite laptop

1. Yes, you can upgarde your Video Card by installing a '3D Graphics Accelerator Card' like ATI FireGL V3400, 3dfx Voodoo3 3000, NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800, etc.

2. But first, check the compatibility of your motherboard with that type of Graphics Card!

3. Check this site for the complete range of latest video cards :

Greetings sergiu,

If I understand your question right you have a video card, possibly from a desktop, and you want to know if you can put it in your laptop?

If this is the case, regrettably most laptops have video cards built in to the motherboard. In some cases there are units that have replaceable video cards, but these are created differently and have different connections then a standard video card.

Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

Can I change the video card on my 2400-103?

It can be done but you will have to go to the manufactor for the parts. All laptops are designed to use only their manufactors parts. The one exception to this is the hard drive and the memory.

I want to update my graphics card

The video subsystem in Toshiba notebook computers is an integral part of the overall design of the computer. As is the case with most notebook computers designs, it's not possible to upgrade the video subsystem or to add memory to it.

sorry
