I have bought a rca mp3 player m4804r-a i have lost the manuel and i dont even know how to use it.. can i get some directions on how to download music off the internet

With the unit connected to a Windows computer by a USB cable, you can transfer MP3s to the player by dragging them from a folder on Windows to your M4804's folder when the unit is plugged in. If the music isn't in the correct format, you can use the EasyRip software to convert the files. Depending on the current protocol, your MP3 player will act like a flash drive (MSC) and you can just open the disc. In this mode, make sure to use the safely remove hardware control before disconnecting the USB cord. If the unit is in MTP mode, you will need to open the player in Windows Explorer and then open the Internal Storage location to drag files to the unit.

To switch modes from the Home menu, press +, -, forward or reverse to navigate to Settings. Press Play, then again navigate to Protocol. Then press Play and you can toggle between the two modes. If you use ITunes or another service, you need to be in MTP mode. (Set this when the unit isn't connected to a computer.)

RCA Audio Video has the manual for the M4804R on their product site here: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/audio/mp3players/?sku=M4804R . Click on the Support/Manuals tab. The direct link to the manual is http://audiovox2.info/docs/common/M4804R/M4804R_OM.pdf . The Downloads tab has firmware and the EasyRip software.

I hope this helps.

Find a driver so I can install my rca m4804r-a mp3 player to windows vista can ya help me

Actually Windows Vista should detect your player without any problem. There's no specific driver required to run install this model on Windows computer. There are few tools, but you wont need those tools like firmware update utility. You can try this:

easyRip Media Manager Software Download

Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Music on mp3 player not aknowledged by computer

You are right about the Vista. The nextar was designed to work with up to XP. It wasn't designed for Vista at all. You could try getting Vista to treat it as an old OS by selecting the player, (and if Vista works anything like Windows 7) by right clicking on the mouse and select compatibility options. Or finding the option to do the same in Windows, if it doesn't come up in Vista. (Never used Vista so do not know it). Anyway then select the OS of your old computer for the compatibility.

Computor doesn't recognize iriver iFP-895 mp3 player

What's your operating system?

These are the steps that helped me resolve a similar issue I had:

1) Find a computer with Windows XP (ServicePack2)
2) Intall iRiver Music Manager 3.16 from http://iriverinc.com/download/iRiver_Manager_v316sp.exe
3) Download the Firmware update for your player from http://iriverinc.com/download/ifp800/IFP-8XXT.HEX to your Desktop
4) Start the Music Manager and connect your player to the computer. (The XP should recognize your player; and the Music Manager should show the "connected" status)
5) In the Music Manager, click on Tools => Upgrade Firmware, then select the file from your Desktop. NOTE: The upgrade process takes 4 -5 minutes.

After the firmware update, Windows Vista and other PC's should recognize your player.

Will not show songs

This player has a USB and an MTP mode- the most annoying fetaure ever invented on mp3 players.

You can switch your player between USB and MTP mode only if your player is connected to Windows XP machine and Windows Media Player 10. When the player is connected to your Windows XP machine, pressing the M button on your player will switch your player between USB and MTP mode.

There is not a driver - not only is this player not compatible with Vista, plugging it into a Vista computer will ruin it permanently

It will not put the disc that came with it on my computer and i have windows vista.

I just got one, and the different info that came with it says that it won't work with Windows Vista. I am sure it can, but you have to figure out how.

If I was you I wouldn't worry about using the disc. There are many options out there for getting music off of the interenet and putting it on there that are probably better anyways.

Software incompatability

Some one else had this problem and i explained i couldn't find any software for that mp3 player that was compatible for Windows Vista so i told him to try and use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to put songs on and he said it worked.

To use Windows Media Player 10 or 11, connect your iPod then go to Windows Media Player at the top click on the link called "Sync" now your on that on the right is a pane drag and drop your music there then click "Start Sync" once sink is complete disconnect and see if that works.

If you do not have a latest version (you should have because your running Windows Vista.) if not for some unknown reason here is the latest Windows Media Player - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful in some way. Further problems just leave a message on this page and i will get back to a.s.a.p.
