Hi

This error code is related to the washers sensor , it is rotor position sensor error. Try unplugging it and wait for some minutes then replug it. If the problem persists then two parts really need to be replaced the rotor sensor itself and the control board.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Thank you for contacting fixya.com

Call whirlpool. They may cover your parts. You need a rotor sensor and a new control board. Problem is
some of those boards require a whole new wire harness. Whirlpool won't admit that this is a growing problem,
but they might pay for your parts. You'll need to hire that job done unless you like being aggravated. And to
answer your question, No, you didn't do anything wrong. I lost count of how many times I've come across that
problem...hope this helps.

What does the F51 code mean ?

What washer do you have? The F51 code is a failure of the RPS sensor at the bottom of the motor on the Kenmore Oasis or Whirlpool Cabrio.

This can occur if you overload the washer or if there are foreign objects under the washer that prevent the motor from turning.

If you set the water level for a small load but put in a large amount of laundry, you can get the error. If the drain hose is incorrectly positioned in the drain, the fill water can get siphoned and cause the error. Make sure that the basket turns freely when you lift the lid. Items stuck between the baskets or a problem with the basket hub can also cause the error.

If the unit isn't overloaded and the basket and motor move freely, you need to find where the circuit is failing. See this URL for details on tracking the fault: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/110568-does-f51-code-indicate-washer . You need to measure the resistance on the cables to the control board from several sensors and the motor itself. These tests will lead you to the parts that need to be replaced. If you aren't sure of your ability to do these diagnostics, call for service.

I hope this helps.

What does F 51 mean?

The F51 fault code on your Cabrio washer indicates that the control board is not sensing the proper drive motor spin. To clear the fault code, press the Pause/Cancel button.

Make sure that the drain hose is not stuck way down the stand pipe. This can cause siphoning of fill water which will inhibit proper motor rotation.

Check to see if the wash basket spins freely. If it does not, you may have an item of clothing stuck between the outer tub and the inner basket. This restriction in rotation will also cause an F51 fault code.

If these tips do not help you resolve the F51 problem, then you probably have a component failure. Possible failures include: wire harness or wire connection problem between the machine control and the RPS sensor (Rotor Position Sensor), a failed RPS sensor, a failed drive motor, and a failed machine control board.

Whirlpool cabrio WTW6700TW1 only fills little bit, won't turn or agitate, buzz sound/humming noise, code F51 flashes??

The F51 error is a RPS (rotary position sensor) board failure where the control board looses contact with the RPS during the machines operation. The RPS uses hall effect sensors to determine the speed and direction of the drive motor, allowing the control board to constantly monitor the motors operation. Because this error is a communication error and not a mechanical error with the motor itself (that would be and F52 error) we can limit our trouble shooting to the three items that make up the RPS circuit, the control board, the wiring harness, and the RPS itself.

Kenmore elite toploader code f51

The F51 error code indicates that the control is not sensing proper motor movement through the signals from the RPS (rotor position sensor) circuit. This can be caused by several different problems. Make sure that you are not overloading the washer. Overloading can cause this problem. A toy or foreign object could be under the washer that is interfering with motor rotation. With the washer empty, spin the basket inside the washer tub to see if it spins relatively easily. If not, you could an item caught between the spin basket and the tub. You could have a wire harness problem causing signals to not be transmitted properly between the RPS and the machine control board. A failed RPS sensor or a failed control board could also cause this problem.
