When I try to install SP3 on my eMachine T6532, I get a Blue screen error during installation. How can I fix this?

This could possibly be a driver issue. Please disconnect all devices connected to the computer other than the mouse, keyboard and monitor during installation. If installation completes successfully, then you may reconnect the devices.

An error occurs during installation

The CD Setup wizard will fail to complete the installation or sometimes fail to run at all because antivirus, anti-spyware or PC firewall is blocking the installation process.

To ensure a successful installation from the CD Setup Wizard, make sure all security tools are temporarily disabled before the installation begins. Enable back the antivirus, anti-spyware or software firewall once the installation is completed.

NOTE: If setup still fails to complete, check that you have selected the correct operating system in the setup options. You may also try restarting the computer and reinstalling from the CD if the setup fails to complete the first time. If all else fails, try searching for your device model at http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/ and clicking on Get Downloads to download the latest firmware.

How can install

Power on your computer. Remove contents from package if you have not done so already. Locate the installation poster, a CD and any instructions.

Place the router installation CD into your computer tray and start it up. Do not power on or connect the router to your computer at this point.

Follow the directions from the router CD that are displayed on your computer screen.

This may include typing in a series of numbers in your web browser address bar that look like: http://192.168.1.1 (depending on the router manufacturer).

Click the "next" button on the bottom when prompted as you complete the steps.

Connect the router to your modem and computer with the appropriate cables and power it on at the appropriate step (not before).

The one from the computer (usually a color) goes into your networking jack in the back of your computer and the other (grey/white) goes into your router in any of the jacks numbered 1-4. The color does not matter; it just keeps you from getting the connections confused.

If you need a diagram or further assistance, look at the poster that came with your router.

Follow any additional steps the on the install screens. And, test the router to ensure it can access the Internet. This is the most important installation step.

Set up the security as needed and print out the security key page and store in a safe place. Take note of any passwords or settings you place on the router as well. This can include WEP or WPA key. You may wish to print out this information for the router and keep in a safe place.

Remove the router install CD from the drive once you have completed all the steps.

Leave the router powered on and attempt to access the Internet from your notebook computer or other computers on your network. Double-click Internet Explorer to get online.

Restart the computer if prompted. Be sure all the lights are on your router when it starts back up and you are able to access the Internet. If this functions properly, your router is installed properly.

I always get the following message at step No. 4 (in accordance with the installation software direction): ?Your new router does not appear to be connected properly ERROR 322 New router cannot be detected....

Connect with an ethernet cable then type http://192.168.1.1 into a web browser and see what happens. If you get a log in screen leave the username blank and use the password 'admin' (without the quotes). this will tell you if the router is accessable to the computer.

Connecting netgear 108 mbps super wireless adsl router

I noticed that the router i bought is a modem router and only needed an adsl line. I cannot connect the router to my broadband connection because i already have a modem from my ISP. So, i'll have to sell the router and buy a wired router without modem for me to successfully complete the installation and configuration.
Cheers!

Installation problem

Hi,

Initially, I would suggest that you connect either your Dell desktop and IBM ThinkPad laptop using a wired LAN cable to any of the Ethernet Port 1~4 of the router and verify that your PC is set to Auto obtain an IP address. Thereafter pls go through the setup procedures again.

If this is how you have connected your router and PCs, pls post back that we can figurre something else.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
