What is pop-up windows?

pop up windows are nothing but html and javascript codes inserted into source code of webpage which will shoot these windows up when you activate those codes.
For example, popup windows are normally used to pop up ads when we access certain sites. This way they earn more money when you click on those popup windows.

My Kodak Picture CD will not auto load

If your computer is operating with WINDOWS 95, WINDOWS 98, or WINDOWS NT 4.0 Systems, this CD contains software that automatically launches when you insert the CD. Getting Started:
Insert your Picture CD disc and wait for the software to load (it could take as long as 5 minutes, depending on your machine configuration, CD drive speed, and the number of images on the Picture CD).
Note: This loading process installs some Picture CD program files onto your hard drive. The KODAK Picture CD installer walks you through the steps. The final step may be to restart your computer. If so, be sure to restart to complete the installation.
After your computer has rebooted:
  1. Eject the Picture CD and re-insert it into the CD drive.
    The program should launch automatically.
  2. Click the magazine cover to turn to the Contents Page.
  3. Follow the links to read and do more with your digital photos.
If nothing happens after waiting for the Auto Play, you may need to manually start the Auto Play program. (Auto Play is a program that starts up the CD installation process the first time you use the CD.)
To manually start Auto Play:
  1. Right-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
  3. Click the Device Manager tab.
  4. Click the CD-ROM drive icon; click the "+" to view the CD-ROM drive information.
  5. Double-click the CD-ROM driver icon.
  6. Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
  7. Click Settings.
  8. Check Auto insert notification and click OK.
Note: This enables all CDs to automatically run any Auto Play software.

My disk drive isn't working. When I put a disk in and close it, nothing happens.

Firstly lets see if your drive is working!

#put in a disk you know works and has files of some sort on it

#If nothing is still happening , goto my computer and right click on your CD drive and click "explore"
Do you now see files ?
#if not right click on "My computer" and click manage

#the "COmputer Management" Console will now popup and you will see a selection of headings on the left , click the plus sign on "Storage" to expand it then lcick on "Disk management (Local)

#in here you will see all the storage devices attched to your computer , including your Hard Drives , Floppy Drives , USB Flash Drives etc.. , from here you should see your CD Drive , if you do and right click it and explore the drive and you do see files , change the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive from the default D: to say like F: or something , right click the CD-Drive in the Disk management and click change driver letter , and follow the instructions.

#If you dont see the files or you dont see the CD-Drive at all do the following:

1. right click my computer
2. click on properties

a new window will popup

3. click on the hardware tab
4. click on device manager

the device manager console will now open , from within here find your CD/DVD Drive under the DVD/CDROM drive heading, right click the appropriate drive and click on uninstall

now reinstall with the drivers and restart.

also if this doesn't fix your problem try upgrading the firmware of your Drive.

**im assuming your running Windows XP for that solution but i would think the process in Vista would be very similar.

If you have a spare computer that is unused maybe you could try it on that machine and see if it works , if it does a fresh installation of Windows on your current machine may be the solution as it could be infected with a virus which just may have corrupted the window drivers.

Feel Free to ask more if this doesnt fix it:

Thanks!

I cannot install my Web camera on my window 98 PC with the CDprovided with PC Camera CS630.

Wow, you have the CD? Please upload the drivers from the CD. Please use a different computer than the one you are having difficulty with because the CD drive may be causing the problem.
