SOURCE: Miller S-54D 115V digital wire feeder that does not weld right.

Hi Kevin,
Causes of poor penetration: Travel speed too fast, welding current too low,
poor joint design / and or preparation, electrode diameter too large,
wrong type of electrode, excessively long arc length.
Solutions: Decrease travel speed, increase welding current, increase root
opening or decrease rootface, use smaller electrode, use electrode with deeper
penetration characteristics, reduce arc length.

SOURCE: how do you hook a miller s-22p8 wire feeder to a

you can't, the S-22P8 it's not a volt sensing wire feeder, it requires 24V or 115 with an adapter. FOr CV machines only.

Run 112 code on a millermatic 252 what does it mean

Run 112 is the Run In percentage setting.. wire feed speed ratio to diameter of wire being used.

The unit comes from the factory with a preset run-in speed of 100% . Run in speed is determined by wire size (dia). The regular setting is 100% set at the factory..which evidently will accommodate most wire sizes for the average user.

The wire is pre detenating bfore it hits metal. melting into tip. I have had to replace tip several times. no matter how I adjust volts our wire speed. currently I cant weld.

Your wire speed is too low and your voltage is too high, that is the reason. Try a very high wire speed (400 ipm) and a 19 volts to begin. What is the amperage of your machine????
Are you using straight CO2 or a 75/25 argon mix, or just fluxcore wire??
