    Hi Romy,

Thanks for your advise. As such my problem was solved when I just disconnected the power cord and kept the system off for a day (I had also taken away CMOS battery from the slot so as incase of any bad memory storage everything is wiped out). Next day when I just switched on my computer and wow it simply started off showing me default checksom error (i.e. it appears when battery is down or it is not in place). I just defined the current date in Bios and started my computer. I let the XP (Os on my PC loaded) and then log off and switch off the system. I placed then my CMOS battery in. And now everything works fine.

    Anyway thanks for your advise.

    Ashish

P.S. Crux of the problem was it was keeping bad memory in cache for more than half an our.

Hi Ashish

There is no problem with ur system board.
Actually you are getting this problem because of Monitor problem.

The possible cause would be:
1. Your data cable connecting your board failed.
2. The display IC of your monitor failed.
3. If you have Video card then remove video card and try connecting data cable to monitor port other than ur video card.

most probably u are dealing this problem due to failure of ur display IC.
Troubleshoot first by connecting other monitor with ur system if available.

gimme ur acknowledge by rating me

Thanx

Hi there! You can test first if the monitor is working. Disconnect it from the computer then turn it on after that it should show you colors on the screen this means its working if not then its no use trying it on a different computer.

Hope this helps!

You are not getting a video signal to the monitor. The fact that it is green initially shows it's working. When it turns orange, that's an indicator that it is getting no signal from the computer. So the next thing to check is if your computer is actually booting up or if your video card is going bad.
Do you normally hear a beep when the computer starts? Do you hear it now? If the answer is yes and no, then your computer is not starting up. To troubleshoot, I would suggest opening the case and disconnecting everything but the video, CPU, and memory. See if it starts. (you should get a message about no boot device if this happens)
If still no video, you have a hardware problem most probably related to the video card.

Acer AL1914 black screen, green light

it sounds like a deleted driver? try getting the driver for the monitor, did you loose the Operating system at some point, if so try a system restore to a date when the computer was working properlly prior to the malfunction. It sounds like it restored you to a time before the driver for that monitor was installed.
