Signal cables have nothing to do with any discussion of a dead unit, especially fibre optic as they don't conduct electricity.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Avr 135 best way to hook up to a LG flat screen it's newer but not smart just got this 135 and have never hooked one up before

It depends on what outputs are available on the TV, but the best you could do would be via an optical (fibre-optic) lead from the TV to the AVR for digital audio, which might give you surround sound. Failing that, you can use a phono lead to get analogue stereo audio. The ideal would be HDMI but the AVR doesn't support this.

Trying to fit a jaguar cd changer in the boot of my 2002 S type. Power and fibre optics, connected power at unit it ejects but the car doesn't recognise, press CDC nothing happens.....HELP please

You need to get the head unit programmed through the OBD connection to accept the cd changer, the unit does not know the changer is fitted........a jaguar main dealer or an independent jaguar garage will be able to do this for you, about half to one hour labour charge.

I'm trying to hook up my playstation 3 to my receiver and i can't get video or audio when using fibre optic and hdmi. how do i hook this up properly to get the best possible video/audio?

Having both HDMI and Fiberoptic cables causes conflicts with one another, HDMI carries both video and audio signals HDMI = Best. Hook your PS3 to your audio source with HDMI. then configure it through your PS3

How and who invented Fibre Optics? I'm a student at High School and tasked with a research on Fibre Optics. Where exactly do I get more information on this (plus photos)?

Who invented it and who got the first patent are two different things.
Google "Fibre Optics" and you will get access to more information than you dreamed of. Make sure you list where you got your information. A lot of it is copywrited and to use it without giving credit could get you into a legal bind.

Kenwood vr-405 receiver

I have the 405 as well. My TV has an optical out and I run that straight to the 405 optical input. I set the input selector to DVD/CD (not DVD)and presto! TV audio out my speakers. It all comes down to the audio connections on your TV.

No sound with ps3, connected to a 7.1 av receiver & projection tv

Hi...the HT-R800 Home Theater system has the HT-R550 receiver which could only carry Video via HDMI. you would need to connect a separate audio cale(Optical Audio Cable) to be able to get audio out of the PS3 to the receiver. Once you have hooked up an Optical Audio Cable you would need to go in the PS3 setup and putin Bitstream and Optical in the Audio Setup menu.

No radio sound from my IVA-D310E

neither of those units use fibre optic cables! but it sounds like you puled out the antenna wire behind the head unit. if you try and search radio stations without the manual tune on and it keeps changing frequency on it and never stops then its the antenna plug.
