The lightning probably took out circuitry before the fuse went. Solution, call your insurance company and get a new set!

Keep blowing the main fuse.

To which circuit section did you replaced the fuse? Main power retulator? Just understand, the fuses are used to protect the circuit and TV from any short circuit or over voltage. Without any one of these, no fuse will blow up. If it was due to over voltage, the set should work after a fuse replacement. But here, the fuse blow up again, means, there is some thing shorted component/s. Check which component is shorted, and replace it, before replacing an other fuse. One more thing to say is, never insert a fuse other than specified. The voltage and ampere specification to fuse, will be marked at the circuit board, very near to the fuse clamp. Insert a fuse of same rating only. Using other fuse, rated higher ampere rating, might make things worse.

Can't find a fuse replacement...

We can't predict which components have been damaged due to lightning. Sometimes, a fuse only, otherwise more other components might have damaged. Anyway, if fuse should blow out, surely there will be any more reason. You should find it out first, before replacing the fuse. If not, more damage can be occur. Check for any shorted components, diodes, capacitors etc: at its main power supply regulator board. Be sure that there is no other defect occurred.

Dynex tv

If your TV dead after the lightning, then your TV doesn't power ON with red light stays on lit you possibly have faulty main board.

If totally no indicator try to replace the fuse on power supply board if busted or blown (it is usually connected directly from power cord.

If the fuse still blown you need to replace the whole power supply board.

please rate!!!

I have a 32" CRT Sylvania Tv that won't turn

If the TV doesn't turn ON ata all, it is surely due to some fault with its power supply regulator section. You haven't given any otehr details of your tV, than it is only a 32 inch CRT Sylvanial Tv. No model number; so I only can provide you a solution in general.
Check the ON-OFF switch for its contact. Normally, TVs uses DPST type switches [Double Pole Single Throw]. If any one contact amoung them have any problem with its internal contacts, the set won't switch ON. If the switch is OK, come towards the power regulator section circuit board, and check whether the fuse has blown out or not. If it has blown out, replace it with same type and ampere rating. Never use higher ampere rating than specified. The ampere rating will be maiked either on the rims of the fuse, or at the printed circuit board, just under the fuse. After repalcing the fuse, switch ON the TV and see whether it works well or the replaced fuse blows up as soon as you switch ON the set. If the repalced switch burns out as soon as you switch ON the set, the power supply section has damaged [shorted components in it]; and should be replaced.
Normally for LCD TVs it will be good to replace the power supply as card basis. This power regulator card can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town, orby the authorised service center for Sylvania at your town. If you may have given its model number, I could send you the picture of the power card of your TV. OK.

Tv wont turn on

The problem might be on your power supply

1. Try to check the input voltage from your t.v . Use a multimeter to check, the power supplysection is located on where the main plug is connected. There must be a reading 110V or 220V depends on your supply

2. If the supply is o.k check for busted fuse or a open resistor. Replace same rating of fuses and resistors. A open resistor has no reading on a multimeter and also a blown fuse has no reading also.

Hope this may help you......

Was watching tv ( LG 50"PC1D) as normal and all of sudden the tv just died, no power. checked the 10 amp fuse in plug and this had blown for what ever reason. There are 4 other plugs on this extention...

Make sure that you've replaced it with same current(ampere) and voltage ratings to avoid further damage in the future. Fuse, sometimes failed due to voltage surge, aging or the unit gone to maximum current usage. Low quality fuse is also to consider for this kind of symptoms.

You'd better make sure that there's no power on in the TV by checking the red light in front of it. If it's sure there's no power when the TV's plugging in the outlet, then the problem may be the fuse.

The GLASS fuse locates right after the power cord where is connected to the TV. Using a screw driver to open the back (make sure the power cord already taken out from the outlet !), try to have the power cord side opened as wide as you can. You can use your finger tip to push straight from bottom to up to take the fuse out. For sure, you can see the fuse having the core disconnected in the middle.

To my case, the fuse was 6.3 Amp and 125 Volt, but I can only get the 6.3 Amp- 250 Volt at my local Radio Shack store. However, it's fine to replace with this higher volt fuse.

It costs about 4 bucks for a bag of 4 glass fuses. Worth to try with the "practice" and for having your TV back on again !
