Hello. There are actually a few different grinders (style of) with this product number. Here is the link to the Metabo home site. They have downloads available of parts lists and specifications that should be of assistance to you. Should that fail, use their contact information, and have them supply the required information. If this helps, please rate this answer a four-thumbs up - Thank You.

Metabo die grinder vibrates realy hard when turned up. Is there a repair, or should i toss it?

Two things can cause this, the blade isn't centered or the shaft is bent from a fall.Take the blade off and make sure the center hole is over the shoulders on arbor nuts. To check for a bent shaft take off the blade and tighten the arbor nuts and bring it up to speed. You can email them http://www.metabo.com/E-Mail-Center.2032.0.html The Metabo 3-year warranty

Our power tools have a particularly long service life. Since repairs are so rarely required, Metabo has developed an additional warranty for you - the XXL-warranty.
If you register, the normal warranty is extended to 3 years. Prerequisite is the sales receipt together with the XXL warranty certificate that you can generate after registering your machines.

You can register within the first 4 weeks after the purchase.Thank you for choosing fixYa

No power to bite

Needs new brushes. http://www.metabo.com/Spare-parts-lists-handheld.16913.0.html

When the brushes wear down they are held back by there power wires. There should be a set of small holes in the brush holders.Push new brushes to the bottom and put a wire through the small holes to hold brushes in place during reassembly.Pull out the wires and the new brushes will seat. Brushes don't cost all that much.

Spindle overheats, within seconds gets so hot you can not hold it

May be a bearing going bad and starting to get tight creating the excess heat.

May i fit bigger disc on my angle grinder, its speeed is 11000 rnd.p minutes, recomended 115 mm disc.i want to fit other big disc.may i do it?will it cause any problems?

there are 3 problems you might face: 1. mechanical - disc shield (or protector) is too small for bigger disc. You can remove the shield (I do not recommend!!!) or buy bigger one (as I've did). 2. RPMs - on each disc you can find maximal speed of ourter part of the disc. It depends on disc diameter and RPMs. In case yo go from 115 to 125 at 11 000 RPM, it should be still OK. But I would not go further. Check how RPMs drops with increasing disc diameter. 3. motor overload. To handle bigger discs motor should produce higher torque. But if you are not pressing on the grinder and you frequently check temperature of grinder, it should work. I have Metabo WE14-125 - 1400W motor 125 mm disc: 1. I've bought new shield from WE14-150 - it fits perfectly 2. My grinder has adjustable RPMs, when I'm using 150 mm disc I'm not going over level 3 (out of 6) to keep RPM in safe range for the disc. 3. Metabo makes also WE14-150 which is almost same as mine, but produces more torque (3,5Nm vs 3,3Nm). But the dofference is very small so I'm not worried. Juraj

Magnetic brush size

Yes and no. From 1999 to early 2008, excluding the slightly beefier "Ergo" models, the size / part number is the same. However, on the newest models there are differences in density between some models. Wire placement is different from the older models.

Some batteries develop 'memory'. Run the batteries down until they are completely dead, then recharge them fully. Do this a couple times to get them back to normal.

Hello, my Metabo WE14-125 won't work anymore, there's a small red flickering light on my machine and I don't know what it means! At first I thought it were the carbon brushes, so I changed them, but the...

The light is an overload indicator that should come on when the tool is really hot. Internally, a sensor monitors the motor temperature and when the motor becomes too hot, tells the electronic to limit the voltage to the motor. This causes the tool to feel like it has no power. It should be run no load until it cools off, the LED goes out. The tool should have full power again.

If the light is on continuously, even when cool, and it doesn't run, get the tool to an authorizied service center; it may need a new armature. You can find your closest service center here:

AFTER USING FOR A WHILE THE POWER CUTS OFF.

The grinder is shutting off because of the temperature overload switch. This is normal if you are using it for a long time. Sometimes these switches go bad and need replaced as the grinder shuts off after 15 seconds or so. I don't reccomend disassembling the grinder and bypassing this, but it can be done. Hope this helps you, Rick
