If you format the Memory stick, you will loose all of your data that is saved in your memory stick. Not the one which in stored in the phone memory.

how i can format the memory stick but the content will not delete??

  • Adeel Shafiq Apr 02, 2011

There is no way you can keep your data and also format the memory card. One thing you can do is that you can move all the data into your computer if your phone has a cable that can sync it with computer, or you can also move your important data into the phone memory, then format the card, and then move the data back again. But as i said before, there is no way you can format while the data is still in the memory card. If you have further questions, please ask

There is no way you can format the flash drive and still retain your data.

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive, BUT you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

  • 1 Insert the problematic 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo into your PSP and turn the system on.
  • 2 Select "Settings" from the cross media bar and scroll down to "System Settings." Press "X" to access the sub menu and select "Format Memory Stick."
  • 3 Press "X" to confirm the formatting of the stick. Your PSP will delete any content on the stick and reformat to match how the PSP stores data and organizes files.

How do I change from internal memory to external memory on my camera?

You can copy all the images from the Internal Memory to a Memory Stick Duo media using the COPY option in the Memory Stick Tool Menu option.

Please insert the Memory Stick Duo media with sufficient free capacity into the Camera.
Select MENU--> Settings-->Memory Stick Tool-->COPY-->OK.

The original images in the Internal memory retain after copying. You may have to delete the contents of the internal Memory. Remove the Memory Stick media after copying, then format the internal memory. FORMAT in Internal Memory Tool.

You can only copy the images to the new folder created on the Memory Stick Duo which is created automatically. You cannot copy the images to a specific folder.

Will formating sony pro duo card delete its contents.? I never had to format it before until I bought 16GB. I have so many pictures in it and why would it let me take pictures if have to format it to...

If you say yes to format, then it will overwrite all your pictures. What you are running up against is the current format on the card is not the same as your operating system. Is there another way to transfer your pictures to the computer, maybe an USB cable. That way, you can get your pictures off of it and then format if you wish to match the computer. Another thing to try would be to try the card in another computer if you have access to one.

The camera is not recognising the memory stick

If this is a new memory stick, some cameras require you to format it using the utility on the camera. If you haven't done so, you can try to format it. This will delete all contents on the memory stick.
If this is an old memory card, chances are it is already corrupted. Try to attach it directly on your laptop either on the SD card slot or a USB card reader.
