Can a dynex DX-ESW5 act as a print server?

No. You need a router to set / obtain an IP or connect it directly to the computer RS232 serial port. No network required, but is old school and may be difficult. Specially with MAC. You are better off getting a new router.

The default name suggestions that no additional configurations have been done on the device out of the box. The default login should be "root" with no password. If this fails, see the source for information on resetting the device to factory defaults.

Hp proliant server dl380 g3. gettting PXE-E61:Media test failure, check cable how to fix it..

Your server tries to "boot" from several sources:
* floppy-disk
* CD/DVD
* disk-drive
* network (if you have a "boot-server" somewhere on your network)

So, if your computer FAILS to boot from the first 3 devices, above, it will try the 4th, namely via your network-adapter.
When your computer finds that its network-adapter is *NOT* connected via an Ethernet cable to a boot-server, it reports "check cable" and "test of the media has failed".

So, why did your server *NOT* boot from the 3rd device, namely your disk-drive? Solve that problem, and the 4th device (the "network-boot") will not be tried, and the error-messages will not appear.

I am getting an error message that reads: "Auto-registration process fails to communicate." what does that mean?

This message is related with a Smart eSolution service on your device. This service allows your device to communicate with Xerox servers and provide meter information.

By not having the service configured or by not being able to contact the server you will be displayed with this message. (Re) configure the service is the solution for your "problem".

This will not influence the good production of the device. All services will be fully functional

"Updating the destination list has failed" Error message on Savin

It is a communication problem that's all.
I may or may not be able to help.
Are you using a scanning software on your server to scan to folders? for example "Scanrouter V2"? -you can check on your server in "start" , "programs", you will see it there if it's installed.
If so do this:
open "Scanrouter V2 admin utility"(you should just have to click 'OK' when asked for password -it's usually not set) then and under the "server" button select "set I/O device", then select "remove". If you are asked to "retain settings" select "no". Then add it again> click "add", then "Browse", it should find the machine (either host name or IP address), select "ok" then name it whatever you want - it's for identification only. Destinations should re-appear if you Update.

If you scan via SMB, Email or otherwise, you'll have to get your IT dept, or whoever configured in the firstplace to figure it out.
