I have just received a new frontbezel for my "Akoya" base unit.Is it easy to take the old one off there don't appear to be any screw fixings that I can see is this correct? I don't want to damage anything by forcing the old front off which is the best way of getting it off?

How does one remove broken horn button on a 1992-93 Honda Prelude and replace them with new ones, thre doesn't seem to be any screws that release the steering wheel assembly face cover to facilitate...

if it has air bag in the wheel first you have to isolate the switch
from the back of the wheel spokes ( side facing dash) there may be 2 screws set well into the spoke that are undone to get the center of the wheel out first
from there on it is the same procedure as removing any steering wheel
all is explained in the workshop manual

The lid switch has gone bad. i bought a new one but can not seem to figure out how to get the old one out. it is hard to get to and the back of the machine does not seem to have any easy access either.

Hi DC,
The entire cabinet needs to be removed as follows:
  • Two screws hold the head onto the cabinet, remove these on either side, only a phillips head screwdriver needed, then pull forward and push back out of the way
  • You see two metal clips. Make note of how they are inserted. Place the screwdriver into the recess of these, and pull up. Don't lose these, you'll need them
  • Pull the cabinet towards you and up, releasing the cabinet from the base.
  • Look under the cabinet at where the switch is located. Use the screwdriver and remove the two retaining screws.
  • Unclip the leads from the old switch, and replace them on the new one, it doesn't matter which is which, as long as it is plugged in.
  • replace the new switch into the cradle and rescrew it to the cabinet
  • Place the front of the cabinet under the front of the base, then ease it onto the base in the back. If the two prongs on the bottom rear are flattened, you can raise them up with a flat head screwdriver. Lower the holes on the back of the base.
  • Replace the clips from above back into the top of the cabinet
  • Replace the head and screw it back on.
You should be ok after that. If you need further clarification, don't hesitate to ask.

We have a DECT 6 system with a base unit and five satellites. Suddenly the satellite phones don't work, but they are alive (with no dial tone and don't ring) and show a message "out of...

From FixYa Support:

- unplug base unit for 15 seconds
- press "PROGRAM" button on handset
- from menu, select "HANDSET SETUP"
- from menu, select "REGISTRATION"
- handset display will prompt you to press and hold PAGE button on base unit for 5 seconds, then press "PROGRAM" button on handset

Perform steps for each handset. You may need to plug base unit and unplug for each handset.

Hope this helps.

Dear Sirs: I have a rooftop airconditioning unit on my house; a house which was built in 1980. The air conditioning unit is the original unit, and I suspect that it will go out, drop of a hat; anytime,...

First , a Dometic rooftop RV unit is similar to a window unit, what I mean is that it is all in one, not a standard home split system, if this is the case, then he quoted you a package unit, probably side discharge that would tie directly to your existing duct work, You should get more info from him, or call another company for a second opinion, most reputable companies will give you a free quote to replace your system, so you have everything to gain and nothing to lose but an hour or so of your time, and have peace of mind when all is said and done.
Hope it helped.

Re: Samsung Printer CLX3175FN -- receiving message "Replace imaging unit soon." I've read other expert replies but am still missing some information. Can I replace the unit myself? How do I do...

Nancy, Your imaging unit has a limited lifecycle. Documentation states that it can make 24,000 B&W pages and 6,000 color. The message is telling you that you are getting close to that limit. Eventually you printer will stop printing, and your messahe will state "Replace imaging unit". This can be done by you. It is very easy to do. The imaging unit is fairly expensive: around $150 or more depending on the merchant and shipping charges.

The motor burns and dont run its old, maybe ned to replace .i never don it, ned help, thanks

The good news is that this is a relatively easy item to remove and replace, as Broan makes a replacement fan/motor unit (sub assembly) that you can swap out for the old one.

All you need to do is pull down on the trim vent plate and then squeeze the wire retainer clips together to remove the grill/trim.

Once you've done that, you can unplug the fan portion of the exhaust fan unit from the base enclosure. Now simply remove the screw or nut that holds the fan and mounting plate into the enclosure and simply pull it down and pivot it out of the enclosure - you might have to push in on the side of the enclosure where you removed the screw/nut to get the fan and metal plate out of the cabinet.

You can get a replacement fan unit at most Big Box home stores (Home Depot or Lowe's) or at an electrical supply house. Just bring the old one with you so you can be certain you get the right one. The replacement fans come with a new metal mounting plate that fits many of the older exhaust fans, but if your's looks different or doesn't work, you can remove the fan and install the new one onto your old metal fan mounting plate. Instructions are typically included in the replacement unit packages. This is also very simple to do with only 2 screws holding the fan onto the mounting plate.

Once you're done, simply hook the edge of the plate back into the fan enclosure and then push it up and fasten the mounting screw/nut onto the plate and plug the fan into the ceiling enclosure and replace the grill plate and you're all set!

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Pioneer vsx 3000 plays fine, but the radio function hums

If memory serves correct, the VSX-3000 is from the late 80's. They are good receivers from that era. From your description, it appears the tuner module could have issues, since only the AM/FM has a hum. If all other inputs sound well, it points the the tuner module. These modules are not easy to repair (PCB with SMD highly tuned parts), and are easiest and cheapest to replace. Many VSX models of that vintage use the same part. Not sure how easy it would be to find one. They are a small PCB enclosed mostly in a silver shielding, with one or two connectors from the inside and screwed to the back of the receiver, where the antena connection is.
Good luck

I had a similar type problem where i have a lifetime subscription and my XACT VISOR XTR3 unit had a faulty power connection that was driving me nuts. i decided to try and swap out the internal receiver component with a new unactivated unit i bought on ebay. (all the types are out there and pretty cheap even for new)

in opening the new one up i found the only difference from unit to unit is the receiver brain inside the unit, and it is relatively easy to swap out the brain into the body of a new unactivated unit. just four small screws and carefully pull the brain out of the long multi-pin connector. i put the old brain into the new carcass, screwed it back together and it works like a champ. just have some patience in figuring out exactly how your particular unit comes apart, and you will need small screwdrivers and either a small allen-key set or torx set - my old unit had the allen-key screws on the outer case and the newer one had torx screws.
