Question about ASUS U80A (U80A-RSTML05) PC Notebook

1 Answer

Hi, I bought my ASUS U80A laptop back around December of 2009. Around September of 2010, I started having issues with my Wireless Network Center. I often hibernate my laptop at night instead of performing a hard shut down. Sometimes, when I go to use it after it has been awakened, it will not detect any networks in the area. Re-hibernating it and subsequently awakening it again remedies this issue, however, the number of times this must be performed varies and is quite time-consuming. Additionally, my laptop has had issues with dropping my from a network where it shows a strong signal, even though others with different laptops remain connected. I'm not entirely sure if it is the networks which are the problem or my computer. Additionally, I have ~20GB of space free for both hard drives. (as my U80A appears to have split the 320GB of memory between two drives.)

Backup your data or files to your secondary partition of your hard drive. After back up, shutdown your computer and turn it on again and tapping the F8 key until the safe mode appear on your screen. Arrow up to safe mode and press enter then the windows load the application, click yes to run on safe mode. Click the administrator account and when finish loading, click start, click programs, click accessories, click system tools and click system restore.

Restore your computer from the very start, if still having trouble with your wireless network you have to format your computer from scratch but only the first partition of your hard drive.

Have a nice day.

What's needed to have internet anywhere ,asus laptop with w7,64

In order to have internet access anywhere, you need to order this service at a mobile phone company (such as AT&T) and have a USB modem (e.g.Huawei E3131), which they usually give along with the internet service. You then plug the modem with a card inside into your notebook, log in and then you can use the internet through your provider, just like on mobile phones. Wireless connection only allows you to access the internet in the proximity of a wireless router.

No. You can only fit the correct processor and the correct speed. The owners manual or Win7 desktop will let you know what the processor is.

Upgrading asus u80a processor

What exactly do you want to upgrade. If it is Memory or a hard drive there is a panel in the bottom that you can open and replace and upgrade those components. If you want to upgrade the processor, I'm afraid that one cannot do it since most processors in laptops are soldered into the motherboard.

If the ASUS was purchased with MS Office 2010 then I suggest you take your Notebook back to the shop and ask then for the MS Office product key.

Horizontal and vertical lines on ACER laptop

Hi there some how your laptop screen pressed & the screen is damaged. Just the option is replacing the screen. Another reason is over heating of screen by manufacturing default. Your laptop still under warranty so i suggest you visit the Acer service center & claim the damaged things if your screen does not have any over pressed symptom then. I hope you understand me. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

My asus laptop pro3 series version F3JC will not connect to or locate wireless network at home which uses d-link wireless router. laptop is running vista premium. it will connect if i use a wireless usb...

I have seen issues like this before , certain chipsets/drivers of wireless cards and routers just dont like each other.

We know your wireless card works just as we know your router works. Trick is to get them to play nice together. Unfortunately, there is no quick and easy way to do this, you will have to try different driver and firmware combos until you find one that works.

You can get dlink updates here

And you can try these drivers here.

One other thing you can try before messing around with drivers and firmware is changing the application you use for wireless. The default for your setup is probably Intel Proset. Try using the native Vista wireless manager and see if that does anything. to access that go to start , run , type in services.msc, scroll down to WLAN auto config. Double click on it and then click on start. If you still cant see your router, its time to start trying drivers and firmware.
