Hi, Yes unfortunately i know what it is. When repairing another make of hdtv one time, I used a different " BALLAST " for testing purposes-it was a little under powered to say the least-but i knew this-it allowed me to determine the bulbs were good. when the bulbs lit using my makeshift apparatus-HALF of the bulbs lit up lit up( dim on one side as well as some flickering! ) therefore you have a power supply that drives the backlights that is going "SOFT". Let FixYa know whatever else we can do to assist you. good luck. Prodzilla. P.S. there is a workaround you may try to give more life to this soft power supply, if able,go into menu and adjust brightness down a few notches until it evens out and stops flickering. Again good luck

Every one of those I have repaired, I had to replace the controller ic on both the slave and master. Monitor the 5 volts on the controller and the output, that's a dead give away. Don't bother with the cf lamps, thats not your problem.

Philips 47pfl7422d 37 and flickering

Looks like the TV has developed dry solder/dry/shorting capacitors. To make sure, first of all try the same input device on some other TV. If it works there, you can be sure that your TV is having problems. Then I would advise you to stop using it to stop aggravating the defects. It is better to show it to a qualified service technician.

I have a Philips Model 47FL7422D/37 the left side of the screen is darker than the right side and I can not adjust it. What is the problem.

Scrren problems can be a bad screen or a bad t-con board. The only way to check wich one is by trading out the T-con board, If the problem goes away it was the T-con board if it does not it's your screen. To find the part you have to get the part number from the actual part. you can order parts for this TV at

Our sanyo lcd tv is a couple of years old and recently when the tv is on for the first couple of hours the screen will flicker and get progressivly darker from the center of the screen to the left....

Hello; I am John at J. D. Electronics, Poland Maine. This problem is caused by a defective LCD panel. This part is very expensive! Aprox $ 1000.00 from Sanyo and less than $400.00 from Encompass Parts Inc.
