Question about emedtv.com Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I work in a hospital and we do medical teachings to our patients, your videos are so easy to understand. Almost all of the patients do not have any medically related education and for them to understand the medical problems through your videos is very rewarding and we appreciate all the people responsible in creating these wonderful videos. The only problem is I don't know how or if I'm even allowed to transfer it to DVD's for easy viewing because we are not allowed to bring our laptops to work and besides the size of the laptop screen is too small for a larger audience if we're ever allowed to have laptops. Furthermore, I don't have a projector to make the image bigger hence the best way is to transfer it to DVD's. There are online offers to make this possible but you have to pay an expensive price. Please help. Thank you very much.

SOURCE: image bigger than screen

Try changing the keystone. Also you may have the projector too far away from the screen. Changing the resolution on your laptop will not solve that particular problem.

SOURCE: Can you "price match" online prices?

Hello rj3212,

Best Buy™ stores will price match competitor's stores in their same local area. However, Best Buy does not price match any online-only offers, so would price match a competitor's website only if the price is also available in the competitor's local store. BestBuy.com does not price match any competing prices.

Some other exclusions apply. For Best Buy's full Price Match Policy follow these links: Best Buy store price match policy -- BestBuy.com website price match policy..

Patient in a hospital requesting transfer to Hospital of choice...Nephrologist willing to accept her but current hospital Docs refusing to release her! How can she get her wishes respected?

Ask to Sign the Medical Discharge Release Form. They can't refuse and then drive her to the hospital of choice.

you might want to ask why they won't release her? It might be because the patient needs constant care.

How big is the problem of medical malpractice?

you cant avoid fate--as to how big medical malpractice you would have to pick an area to do so because answer varies with size of population --health care options --procedures --nyc would be higher than a county in maine --also people are lawsuit hungry doctors -clinics get sued for things like bandage pulled a couple of hairs upon removal --their are plenty of cases of bad dr / surgeons or equipment left in a patient but how big a problem you would need to compare number of procedures verses the lawsuit payouts

Where should i found the best doctor for my diagnosis?

Naturally, you can go to one of those Internet sites and see what experience different doctors have. However, here is the way I would do it: Go to a local hospital cafeteria and ask several nurses. Do NOT ask who is the best or worst doctor as they could get in trouble for answering that question. Simply ask them if this was wrong with them what doctor would they go to. Nurses are in an excellent position to see whose patients fare the best. Unfortunately, you did not mention your diagnosis, so I do not know which type of specialty to recommend. If it is a bone problem, you go to an orthopedic, if nerve problem, a neurologist, old age related; a gerontologist, diabetic related: a diabetic specialist, gallbladder, stomach, etc: an internist. Good luck.

Going to the hospital should you be admitted or Medicare does not pay

You didn't get a faster answer due to posting question in category "Heaters", but that's ok. :) If you need urgent medical care you should just go right away! Solve the money later. Ask the hospital itself about the Medicare/ $ thing when you are at the hospital or by phone, but what Medicare doesn't pay, I'll clue you in on. If you have the money to pay whatever Medicare doesn't pay, of course, no problem. But if you honestly can't pay your part if there is a bill to pay, just talk to the hospital billing office. Many/most hospitals can write off some of patients bills as charity. Most Catholic hospitals, & other hospitals with a religious connection, such as Providence in my town, have provisions for low income patients, & their policy is that no patient is turned away due to lack of money. Any time you have a severe medical problem, get help right away and don't worry about the money til later. Your health and life are far more important than money. Always!
By the way, have you checked on the new Obama health care plans for your area? If your bill were huge & you have that insurance, it will at least help you pay it.

LMR Update: Discharge Rx Printing Increases Efficiency/Patient Safety SAFE AND EFFICIENT: To either write an electronic prescription or gain access to check the discharge medications, clinicians can simply visit the patient’s LMR, select the medication section and choose the new tab entitled, “discharge.”
Thanks to a web-based Longitudinal Medical Record (LMR) application developed at Partners HealthCare, clinicians now have the capability of printing patient prescriptions at the time of discharge from BWH.
This new function comes at a critical time when BWH is engaged in a statewide patient safety initiative geared to build awareness of medication safety, including transitions of care.
“For busy physicians, this new tool offers a faster, clearer and less error prone practice for discharge prescriptions,” said Robert G. Goldszer, MD, MBA, associate chief medical officer, who explains that this tool helps the hospital improve quality and safety
at a point in the hospital stay when a lot of information is being communicated to the patient. Additionally, this new tool allows for Partners ambulatory clinicians to easily check what medications the patient was sent home with by checking the patient’s electronic medical record.
To either write an electronic prescription or gain access to check the discharge medications, clinicians can simply visit the patient’s LMR, select the medication section and choose the new tab entitled, “discharge.” All of a patient’s discharge medications will be posted on that screen once the electronic discharge summary has been signed.
