Honeywell Thermostat won't turn on

It was working just fine yesterday afternoon. But last night we noticed it felt warmer and when I went to turn it down, there was nothing on the display. We've checked the fuse box; nothing was tripped. We've popped the unit off the wall and put it back in - nothing. Ideas?

Not that I know of, but then I'm really bad with electronics and repair. The model is a T8411R102 if that helps.

Thermastat will not turn on. Was working fine and I went to turn temp down and it was off. No directions on how to trouble shoot.

There is a small automotive type of fuse in your air handler (not thermostat), check that. Also check to see if the Emergency Switch somehow got turned off (Usually found in stairwell or closet).

Check the water sensor in your drain piping if you have one. If it's sensing water backing up, it will blank that display.

Thanks to furcifer, that solved my problem. With that water sensor sensing water in the pipe, it shuts everything down. Thanks again.

It could need the 3 batteries replaced. I just did that and now it will come on but won't light up. Trying to solve that now.

Will not turn on. Unit has been working great until tonight. Was on but now off and will not come on. Unpluged it for an hour but still not working.

This same thing happened to me, and yesterday as well no less. I've had mine for a 3-4 years. I think It had run out of oil, which is weird because I've had a Holmes heater for nearly 10 years and it still has plenty of oil left. If you shake it, can you hear the oil? I went and got another from Target last night (it was the coldest night of the year) and can hear the oil swishing around in it as I set it up. Hope it last longer than another 3-4 years or my next one will be a Holmes.

My heat wont turn off

if you have an emergency heat position we will assume you've got a heat pump. If you do not have a heat pump you have the wrong thermostat for your application. Need model of this thermostat, wire colors, termiation points (what terminal designator they are connected to), and if you have it where they were and the model of the last thermostat that worked correctly

Need to know which terminals run what

Had similar problem, continuous fan, turn off power, then won't start up. Replaced thermostat, no change. The main controller board in the furnace went bad. What was weird was that it happened in the summer, while the heat was turned off. One day I noticed that the fan was running. The thermostat was in the off position, and I had to shut off power to the furnace to make it stop. I forgot about it till heating season came along and it wouldn't start up. The preliminary blower would start, the gas would click on, it would light, then quit. After tracing and checking the various safety switches, etc. it became apparrent the main board was bad. I found one on ebay, replaced it, [a simple job, unplug, a few screws, replug] and it's been working fine..good luck, John

No heat in zone with Honeywell rth230B

It is not your thermostat, it is an airbound zone. The gurgly noise you heard was that water and air flowing through the radiator. The zone needs to be purged either at the boiler, or through vents on the radiator. Hope this helps

Fan on but no heat

I never liked the user un-friendliness of the Chromatherm, I would suggest finding a thermostat that you can understand and operate. Yes the Chromatherm is a good one, but so damned hard to figure out. Stay away from thermostats that still use mercury. Good Luck!
