Question about Echo Garden

Open Question

How does the spring on the throttle trigger supposed to be placed to maintain tension for a working lever on an Echo 2100 grass trimmer? What is the trick to placing the spring correctly on the trigger mechanism? I have placed the spring on the plastic trigger mechanism, but there doesn't seem to be any tension for the trigger to spring back. I placed the cable first in the slot of the trigger and then place the spring into position, but the trigger doesn't spring back into the starting position. What am I doing wrong? There seems to be only one way to place the spring on the trigger mechanism. Can you please provide me with some sound advice or e-mail me a picture of how it is suppose to be assembled in case I'm doing something wrong? Thanks, Don

SOURCE: Hoover Floormate wheel assembly

In replacing the front wheel assembly, I incorporated a couple of hints from here - first, taking the gray top off by releasing the 6 tabs - 2 front - 2 back - and one on each side - carefully. Then stand the machine up - you need to remove two screws on each side, by the rear wheels and pull those black pieces up some so you have room on the under side for the wheel assembly round things that hold the assembly in place. Turn the machine over and work the round tabs on the assembly in the holders - you need to work it, putting the longest side in first. After getting that in place, carefully - carefully - align the screw thing in the front to where it is suppose to go and carefully work it in place by pushing the screw head carefully through the hole on the arm where it belongs. Be careful not to break anything! After your assembly is in place - stand the machine up and get those black holders along side of the rear wheels back in place and screw them in - 2 screws each. Then carefully snap the gray piece back in place and you are good to go. I don't have a parts list to know exactly what all the names are for the parts, but I hope you get the jest of it. I tried not to use words like do-ma-hicky and thing-a-ma-jig (I'm a woman) haha

SOURCE: can't get spring back onto front seal that holds the seal in place

its very hard to do with the front on ,
if you have the top and bottom off you can keep trying
but removing the control panel and front is easier just a bit longer to do.

SOURCE: My hamilton beach brewstation is leaking.

There is a spring between the lever and the o-ring. It may have popped out when you cleaned the pot. That has happened to me before. The spring is necessary to hold the seal down until the lever is pushed.

SOURCE: fuel line positions ?

The longest fuel line, which has the filter attached to it, goes to the brass fitting furthest from the primer bulb. The short fuel line goes directly under the primer bulb. Which hole to put it in doesn't matter if the lines are the same size. Just choose the shortest path for each. However, if the lines are different sizes, then the longest line (smallest in diameter), goes in the smallest hole of the tank.

ECHO SRM 2100 GRASS TRIMMER HAS NO POWER

For all others with String trimmers, blowers and other 2 stroke style engines...
If no power on high, tends to bog, won't run once choke off, check these:
  • Fuel Filter - It's IN the Gas tank; Just replace it
  • Spark Arrestor at Muffler, it's a screen that tends to clog up and causes very restricted exhaust flow
  • Spark Plug - again just replace it
  • Carburetor, clean or install rebuild kit
  • And adjust sorta hidden High/Low carburetor adjustment screws
Take a look here...

My throttle continues to stick. The motor races and it sounds like the engine is about to explode because of its speed. I opened up the handle and the spring seems out of place. When I squeeze the trigger...

You should see some small wear marks inside the handle where the spring is supposed to rest. Also, check the throttle cable where it exits the plastic engine housing and goes to the throttle plate on the carburetor. Make sure it is connected correctly and not binding on anything on the way to the carburetor. There really aren't any diagrams or pictures available on the net of the insides of a Ryobi weed-trimmer's throttle trigger and spring.
When you squeeze the trigger the steel cable should move, the cable housing should NOT. If you look closely, you will maybe see how it works and all goes together. It is not that complicated.

325 X-L trimmer throttle doe not operate.

There should be a small recessed area off to one side inside the handle for the routing of the throttle cable...Look closely. The spring that controls the return on the trigger isn't too complicated either. It has to be held in place somehere on the throttle handle also and may have to be preloaded so there is tension on it when you install it..Look around closely in the area in the handle RIGHT above the trigger.
