Question about Vacuums

I need a manual as I have been given the machine with no instructions on how to use it. At least what sort of bobbin and how to load and put in place. It is a bernina 540 Favorit.

The manufacturer's website doesn't have a manual for a Bernina 540, but they do have a manual for a Bernina 530/531. I don't know if that will be of any help to you. The address is:
http://www.berninausa.com/webautor-data/486/BERNINA_530_531_manual.pdf
You will need Adobe Reader to view that PDF file. If you do not have it, you can download it for free from Adobe:

My Futura 900 machine is locked up tighter than a drum. How can I fix it?

this should be in sewing not vacuums. Did you find the bit of needle that broke off? It might still be in causing problems. turn machine upside down to free any bits that might be hanging about.

I bought a singer lockstitch 2000 at a yard sale. it came without an instruction manual and i cannot figure out how to load the bobbin correctly

Hi. I'm not familiar with your model, but in most cases, one would set the bobbin into the bobbin case, pulling the tail through the tension and letting a couple of inches of thread hang out. Insert bobbin case and bobbin together as one unit, with the bobbin on the inner side towards the hook. It should snap into place only one way and should require very little effort.

Royal Series, Necchi, Model # 80331763 bobbin does not take up thread properly. No manual unsure if i am threading it correctly.

You can get Necchi instruction manual from Necchi website: http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/Necchi_Sewing_Machines.htm". Makesure the needle is in the machine correctly- all the way up into the needlebar, make sure that it is threaded correctly, etc. If this all checks out ok,take the bobbin case out of the machine. There are two ears on either side ofthe bobbin case- turn the left one to the left and the right one to the right.Remove the silver ring, and inspect the piece of metal that the ring came off of(looks like a circle with the top cut off). You have to locate the hook whichis the piece that looks like a half moon inside the big round metal piece.Locate the tip of it, turn the hand wheel toward you until the needle is in thelowest position, at this point the tip of the hook should be flush with top ofthe left side of the cut off circle. Checkwhether underneath thread is looping on the fabric. If so then you've mis-threadedthe top, probably haven't raised the presser foot when threading so you can getthe upper thread into the tension. You need to thread the upper part with thepresser foot up. (You can put it down to thread the needle.)

Not picking up thread can be several issues, like bobbin is miswound, bobbincase isn't snapped in properly, you're using the wrong type bobbin, machine isout of time, needle is bent or burred, machine is dirty and in need of dustbunny eviction and a little oil but most of the time the issue is once againmisthreading: sewing machine needles have a front and a back and they have tobe placed in the needle holder correctly. In that case your manual is needed, take all the thread offthe machine (yes, spool off the spool pin, bobbin out of the bobbin case), pullthe needle plate and clean your machine thoroughly, using brush and vacuum (notcompressed air) and oiling per the instruction manual. Put it all backtogether, putting in a 80/12 needle, correctly oriented. Hang on to theneedle thread when you fetch up the bobbin thread.

Each and every seam you start is going to be done this way:
1) Pull the tail of the top and bobbin thread behind the presser foot
2) Put the work under the needle and use the hand wheel to lower the needleinto the work
3) Drop the presser foot
4) Holding the thread tails behind the foot, take a couple of stitches.
5) Drop the thread tails and sew normally. Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

I received singer sewing machine 2623 machine and I do not have the manual. How can I get it and how do I fill the bobbin

Singer has manuals for most of their sewing machines available at their site. For the 2623, the manual is only available as a bound copy for $15. Go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals and enter the model number then click Search.

I believe on this model, you fill the bobbin with it on the metal pin on the top right of the machine. With a metal presser foot in place, bring the thread up and around the guide that pin. Wrap the thread a few times around the bobbin. Set the lever to the bobbin winding position and begin winding. Stop and trim the excess thread from your initial wraps after it is fully caught. Then complete winding the bobbin.

(On other Singer machines, you fill the bobbin in place with the bobbin cover moved halfway open.)

I hope this helps.

I just got a new machine (new to me anyway) new home hf106 model. i need to thread the bobbin on the new thead i am using and am not sure where to put the empty bobbin and how to thread it. help!

Janome New Home?

Unfortunately, Janome doesn't put the manuals for older machines on their website. Your best bet is to contact your local Janome sewing machine dealer and ask for a "copy" of the manual from them. A photo copy should be sufficient for your purposes. Otherwise I understand you'll have to buy a manual and wait to have it shipped.

But carefully look at your New Home. On the top toward the right there should be a fitting that looks like the bottom half of a spool. and next to it is a thing that almost looks like a mushroom.

Put the spool of thread on the spool holder, run the tread to and around the tension discs on top then thread the end through the hole in your empty bobbin. Place the bobbin on the thing that looks like a half a spool and push the whole thing to the right toward the "mushroom."

Press start, or hit the foot feed. Wind slowly for best results.

When full, stop and move the bobbin winder back to the Left (sewing mode)

Now... hold your bobbin between your right thumb and fore finger... pull the thread a few inches... your thread should be coming off the LEFT side of the spool, if not flip it over and try again. Open the bobbin area, drop it in with the thread coming off the left to the bobbin.

hold bobbin still with right index finger and with left hand slip the tread between the bobbin race's tension spring then if your model has a channel for the tread... follow it... otherwise pull straight back, replace the bobbin cover on the machine.....

Thread top thread then use the hand wheel to take up the bobbin thread.

(Of course this all assumes your New Home is similar to my janome or brother.) Have fun!

Be sure to get some good needles.... ;)

I have a Singer Imperial sewing machine, the bobbin winds in the machine, no manual with it. I have been trying to figure out how the bobbin is supposed to wind, I got it to do it one time trough trial and...

Does the bobbin have a metal "peak" on it? If so, drop it in the machine with the peak up. Slide the cover only about half way till the 2 arrows on the left match up. Thread the top as normal, put the machine in straight stitch. Thread the needle, then put thread under the foot and wrap thread around the post on the left. Leave foot up. Hold onto the end of the thread and start your machine. The bobbin should be winding now. After a few wraps you can let go of the thread and it should have broken off as you continue winding till the bobbin is full.
