Question about Washing Machines
It did this last week . i started it from the beggining of the wash cycle several times and nothing. i let it sit overnight it worked. i washed 3 more loads and back to the same, no spin cycle. you can hear the motor going but no spin.
This happened to us several times before we figured out what we believe is the solution -- the drain hose... It can't be too high, too low, too far away, to suctioned to the drain pipe etc. We've found that any problem we've run into with this machine has been due to the drain hose. We now have it taped to the wall in its exact preferred position and have had no further problems. This fixed our "no spin cycle" problem, and our "tub fills and then won't drain" problem.

the first thing i would check are the carbon brushes in the motor, as it sounds like they could be worn down and are in need of replacing.
if the brushes are ok it could be the coil inside the motor breaking down, in which case the motor would need replaced
hope this helps
