Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

We are a small recovery company. We are unable to receive calls however we CAN make outbound calls. We have a Cisco T1 router connected to a Audiocodes MP-124 c / FXS gateway connected to a dialer (server). Our system has worked fine for the last nine months. The problem began after the power went out to the gateway. It appears the settings do not get stored. If one of the DID's is dialed, you hear a fast busy. The T1 provider has tested their equipment (tbird) and even replaced it. When the T1 provider resets their system, our gateway works for a brief moment then outgoing stops again. I have error logs from the gateway. The company we purchased the system from has gone out of business. I've had two telephone vendors attempt to fix it without success. Really need some help.

Hi, well you say, you think the "Settings do not get stored......" However, you also say that "Our gateway works for a brief moment......" now if it didn't have settings how could it work even for a second?
See I think, that that power outage has damaged something? maybe the SMPSU, and ya getting bad power? or even something else, a MB Fault/Damage, in the gateway server? maybe the info on the HDD?
Must ask, why cannot you simply restore the PC to what it was B4 the power outage? from a backup?
Always make sure that the PC's are electronically OK.FIRST.
If you are running windows, and system restore is active, then there is no reason why one couldn't, at least, attempt to roll back, the system to a point in time prior to the "Event".
Or if you have some "Other" form of "Backup" and you should? then restore that to the gateway PC. and retest.
Also check the DID lines too, as it indeed sounds as if you have what we call "Crosstalk" where one can faintly hear another party, this is usually caused in the "Lines"and is caused by water in the cables, or some condition where the signals are coupled together. It maybe inside the building wiring?
Otherwise you will have to, at the gateway PC, one by one, remove any and all "Old" settings etc, and then reprogram the required NEW settings and save them again, this is to ensure that they are done, and there is no "Old" data to conflict. You need to re-do the Gateway, then the Modem, Router, especially the router..
If you follow my advise at least you will be able to prove what's wrong.

Have you resolved this yet? If your CO connection is analog, it's done by your telco. If you have a PRI (T1), then it's in your system's configuration.

Unable to browse to cisco access point

'192.168.0.116' is the wrong range for the router. The Cisco manager allocates the ranges the router will use.

How to check serviceability of cisco 1700 router

Cisco 1700 routers are very useful for the small office or even home, they have an ethernet interface built in an optional module slot normally that has a T1 card or another ethernet interface, it can vary. If the optional interface is not what you require then one can be located via internet.

E1 or T1 to pabx to router to softphone

Yes, configure second Cisco E1 port to simulate you telcom (network side) and connect it to PB, and first Cisco E1 to your telecom provider.

On Cisco router configure voice ports, and number manupilation, so you can catch any call and redirect it anywhere (Voip, Telco, PBX).

I tryed that with Ericcson, and it didn't work until connections where like these
telco <-> Cisco VoIP gateway (E1x2) <-> PBX

PBX's are not very flexible, Cisco is.

Going wireless with a T1 Line

Going wireless should not be influenced by the nature of your internet connection. Here, I will assume that your definition of "standard router" is the kind of router we can buy at any electronic store (DLink, Linksys). I you are think more about a high end router such as a Cisco 2600 or 2800, please post a comment and I will adjust my answer.

If you already have internet access through your T1 using a wired network, you may just add one (or more) Wireless Access Points to your existing network. No need for a router here since you already have one for connecting the wired network.

On the other side, if your T1 line will be dedicated to your Wireless access, then a router should do the job. Usualy a T1 line uses a static IP address on the WAN side. If your Wireless coverage required more than one Access Points, then I would suggest you to use a standard router (no Wifi) with seperate access points.

Point to Point T1 Using Cisco 2800 Routers?

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Adtran Atlas 550 alternatives

1: Would a Cisco 1720 provide a simple soltution for terminating a T1 to Ethernet 100 Mps I recommend a 1721 2: If this would not be an option, what Cisco box would provide the needed termination/routing I recommend a 1721 3: If a Cisco device could do this would it be necessary to replace them at both locations or could it communicate with the Adtran device. It depends on the topology of how your sites are interconnected to each other. Please describe in greater detail.
