The knob part has a small slot on bottom side near the brass plate.
Get on the floor and look up.
Locate slot. Take a photo so you can enlarge what you see.

There is a metal tongue that is clicked down into the slot. This holds the knob from coming off.
Use small screwdriver to push up the tongue at the same time you are pulling to remove the knob.

Once the knob starts coming out, you have to pull screwdriver out of the way.
Knob comes off.
Brass plate covers the screws. Use screwdriver on edge of brass plate to remove. Notice brass place has small indents where a screwdriver can fit.

Once plate and knob are off, you have access to screws.
Take photos as you go so everything goes back smoothly.

When putting knob back, the tongue might have to be pushed so knob goes on.
Push knob into place until you hear tongue click into slot.

Remove stuck screw

If the screw head is stripped you will have to replace the knob and screw. Try holding the screw head and turn the handle is its a single knob. Otherwise use a hacksaw or dremel tool and cut about 3/8" away from the door surface, once you cut through you can use a small punch to push the screw through the door then pliers to pull it out. Alternately you could use a dremel tool and carefully grind the head of the screw down until you can brake the head off and pull the handle and screw out through the front.

My soon lock the bathroom door from the inside and now i cant get into the bathroom. how do i get the door knob off so that i can get inside the bathroom?

The short answer is that you can't get the doorknob off from the outside.

Lock sets and door knobs are purposely made that way to thwart any potential thief with a screwdriver from simply removing the door knob to gain access into our homes and rooms.

What you MAY TRY is to carefully pry loose the door trim in the area of the door knob away from the door jamb. You may have to carefully remove a trim nail in the process.
Then experiment with a flat, thin, solid tool like one of those rounded spatulas used for frosting cakes slipped in between the trim piece and the jamb. Your goal is to try to get the spring latch to retract away from the door's strike plate like James Bond with a credit card. Look at one of your other open doors to visualize how the mechanism works.
This is going to require some patience, but it may save you from having to destroy the door or frame to get into the room.

Good luck!

Hi i have a weiser GA331P privacy door knob set in my bathroom door, and i have noticed that it can be pushed in and in the locked postion and when the door shuts it stays locked. I am concerned thay...

the weiser set should have a tiny hole in the knob or rosette around the knob. A paperclip or such can be pushed into the hole to unlock the door. That is the primary difference between a privacy lock and a security lock. Farmerbear at FixYa

How do I get the knob off of my bathroom faucit.

Hi,
Usually in the very center of the handle there is a piece that will pop out if you slide a sharp knife under it and pry...then under there you will find a screw that holds the knob on...remove this screw and the knob will pull off of the stem...

Bathroom doorknob stuck in locked position.

Hello,

I will tell you how to fix 'em. Open the Door Knob with a screw driver, gently pull aart the two knobs once open, then look for a long sliding rod, pull one knob away, twist the Knob untlil it is in unlock position, put them back together to test if it slips properly. If it does not, there is something preventing the rod from rotating freely. Try to ensure it rotates freely. Then screw back together :)

How do I remove the doorknob from a weiser passage set? Want to paint door and remove passage set. Can't seem to find any slot to remove doorknob.

Door knobs have an escutcheon plate (The round part that touches the door ) that covers the screws attaching the knob together.

To get the knob off first look along the shaft of the knob ( The straight part between where you grab the knob and the escutcheon) there should either be a allen head screw or just a metal button. If its a button push in on it while you pull the knob away from the door or if its a screw just unscrew it either way the knob will come off.

Now look at the edge of the escutcheon where it touches the door. On some models there's a little detent or hole where you can put a small flat head screwdriver in to pop the escutcheon loose from the plate. If there is no detent or hole then it may be screwed on. Just grab the escutcheon and turn to the left.

Once you get the escutcheon off you'll be able to see the screws that attach the door hardware together. Just make sure to pay attention to how you took it apart so it goes back the same way.

Hope that helps !

Replacing faulty regulator for hotplate

Remove hotplate and oven control knobs. Under the 2nd and 5th knobs is an extra screw which holds on the front cover. Unscrew these and free the cover then access is gained to the screws (2 on each edge) which removes the plate to which the regulators are fixed.Remove the faulty regulator by unscrewing it from the plate,(2 screws) It is an easy job then to install the new part taking care to put the correct wires on the correct terminals. Reassemble, job done!
