Inside /bottom of microwave has rusted out, can it be fixed.

If it is an older (5+ years) unit, it is unlikely that parts for the cabinet are still available and the cost of this plus the cost of labor involved will probably be higher than the replacement cost. If you are in the US, buy a new one before the Chinese discover that our money isn't worth spit anymore.

I need to buy a new one, wher can I get one

You can buy a new microwave from almost anywhere.
Try ebay or online stores for cost saving but if you would like some form of warranty choose an electrical retailer.
Hope that is what you meant by "I need to buy a new one".

I have an older model Panasonic microwave. I'm not sure what the model # is. This was on the back: B00066261AP. It lights up and rotates, but does not heat. Is it worth the trouble/cost to fix it? Is it...

For most microwave ovens, the only repairs that are worthwhile are those you can do yourself. the cost of the repairman + parts is often as much or more than a new unit.

That said, in your case, it sounds like the part not working is the key part. If you've tried multiple settings, you've probably seen that none work. It's usually harder to make a microwave light, turn and not cook, than it is to just make it cook.

Toss it, but save the tray and spinner as spares. If they don't fit your new one, you can sell them on Ebay.

Microwave turntable motor or belt?

I assume you don't have an illustrated parts list try and Google one up using make and model number etc. It is also a good guide on what needt to be removed and in what sequence.

As far as the novice part, the turntable is a basket case now what can you hurt, this is how we all learned, try to fix it if you cant then call someone who can, not a big deal.

GE JVM 1443 - Unit makes a deeper noise and will not heat

Hello mrobinert,
The sound you may be hearing could be the filament transformer breaking down or the magnetron tube failing ..they will arc and eventually fail. If you aren't getting any microwave energy ( to heat material in the cooking compartment) then in all probability it is either the transformer, magnetron or high voltage capacitor.. None of which are something you want to repair yourself... My advice is that if the cost to repair exceeds teh cost to replace then just buy a replacement model. If yours is under 1 year old, then you may be able to negotiate and get a replacement from the store where you purchased it.. If it is older than a year, it's probably cost effective to just buy a new model.
