If you have the same problem as I did with my microwave, than you have a very simple problem. First of all here are the tools you will need to do the job. 1. flashlight, 2. Phillps screwdriver, 3. needle nose plyers, 4 Awl.Now unplug the microwave from the wall (just for safety reasons. Remove the front top grill of the microwave. This piece is clip-on so you don't need tools to remove it. Just press foward (turns you and up). Now that you have the air grill off, you will find a phillips screw on your right hand (top of the control panel). Remove screw and then gently push the control panel up. This control panel has four tabs (two on each side) once you move the control panel up about 1/4 inch the control panel will drop turns you, top first. You will find that the panel will hang by a black cable and also a hinge on the bottom of the control panel. At this time go ahead and connect power to the microwave. Have your flashlight at hand at this time. In the control panel enter whatever time you want. Push start and once you push start look inside the oven (behind the control panel). If you see sparks coming behind the fan (fan looks like a computer fan). bottom left corner. Then you have the same problem that I had. If not I am very sorry, but I can't help you. Basically was happenning is a wire arching on the inverter motherboard. Now, unplug the microwave from the wall once again. You will need to remove the small fan by pushing small tabs on the right and left handside of fan. The bottom frame of the fan has a "hinge" so make sure when you reinstall the fan you slide the bottom first and then the top tabs. Now that you moved the fan to one side (inside of the microwave) you will be able to see the inverter motherboard. On the bottom left hand you will find a WHITE wire that makes an "L" shape, going from right to left. This is the wire where the arching is happenning, it is so tight that overtime the outer coating has been damaged. Now you will need the needle plyers to remove TWO connectors just up from the WHITE wire that is arching. This TWO coonectors have a white coating insulation on it. Now, your job is to release the tension on the WHITE wire that is arching. I was able to do this by using an AWL. Once you free the WHITE wire from the left hand corner you will need to move it from left to right and move it enough so you can install your two connectors. Please make sure you use electrical BLACK TAPE. To cover the exposed wire. Now move this wire far right so you can install the two connectors removed previously. Install the fan and then plug the microwave to the wall, and give it a try. I hope I was able to help you.

Hi, the F7 = HV SMPS feedback error. Most of the time this is a costly microprocessor board issue but can be something as simple as a loose or broken wire.

If it is in fact new you should contact Whirlpool for warranty service. Anything you would do as a consumer will void the warranty.

You are right about broken wire, but it's more likely inverter problem, than microprocessor. Regards.

I have a Kenmore Elite Speedcook Microwave oven, model #665.63783600. What does error code F7 mean on this model?

F7 Error Code On Microwave Ovens With Inverter Board

An F7 error code could be an inverter board failure. Anything else that prevents microwave energy may also cause an F7 error, and must be checked. The technician should perform the following procedure to test for an F7 error code:

1. Check the magnetron.
2. Check the magnetron TCO (it should be closed).
3. Check the 3 interlock switches.
4. Check the harness wiring.
5. Check the electronic controls.
6. Check the inverter board.

For more free help, feel free to contact me via my site with your detailed symptoms and full model number and FCC ID number as shown on the tag in or on the oven.

How CAN i TEST MY MICROWAVE?

Most common cause of an F7 code on these models is a bad inverter or magnetron. Generally it is best to replace both the magnetron and the 1100 watt inverter board at the same time, since a bad magnetron is usually what burns out the inverter board.

Code f 7

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components. It should cover an F7 error code.

A video is available here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

MY microwave is giving me an error code F7 - call for service

This is all i could find on this error, Its alot to check. Microwave will not operate (cook). F7 error code
appears on the display.
Electrical circuit interruption between L1 and Neutral in
the microwave inverter circuit.
Possible reasons:
1. Check door, hinge and cavity front alignment and adjust
as needed.
2. Check the operation of all interlock switches.
3. Check over temperature protector for the magnatron.
4. Check all Cavity Thermostats for closed circuit.
5. Unplug the oven for at least 40 seconds. If this solves
the problem
A. Check the Cooling Fan for proper operation or
blockage
B. Check the resistance of the magnetron thermostat.
It should be 0 Ohms, replace if necessary.
6. Check that the control cable to the 1100 watt inverter
is properly connected to plug P2 on the display PCB
& Adjust or Reconnect
7. If interlock switches operate correctly, replace 1100W
inverter.
8. If problem persists, replace control assembly

Its got a code coming up saying f7

Most F7 codes are saying the keypad is sticking. Try running your fingers flat up and down across the keypad then horizontally multiple times and see if the F7 code clears. You cna verify this if you unplug the unit and then plug it back in. There should be a pause of about 16 seconds then the F7 code will appear if it is in fact a keypad problem.

F7 Error code on Kenmore Ultra Wave Microwave Hood Combination Model 665.61652100

The 665 the model number prefix means it's made by Whirlpool. F7 means it has a problem with the control board or keypad.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

If it still has a problem, we repair these for customers nationwide with our guaranteed $39.95 service. If a new keypad were needed, that would add about $60 to the repair cost.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
