Question about Fuji FinePix A330 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Mind of it's own...

My camera was working perfectly the other day, now almost every time I press the top button to take a picture it turns off. The batteries are brand new, the battery light isn't on, no warning lights are on, I just hit the button to snap a picture and it immediately turns off and the screen turns black and nothing I press will turn it back on unless I slide the lens cover on and off again. It happens 9 out of 10 times, then the tenth time I can take a picture without it shutting off. I can delete and view pictures, but the button triggers it to turn off for no apparent reason! How can I fix this?

I've seen several of us reporting the same problems with this camera - I can not believe that there is NO solution to this frustrating issue. I've only had this camera for a few years and have taken extremely good care of it. So i know that it's not time for a new one but I don't know what else to do but buy a different brand.

I can turn the camera on, put my screen into focus but when I press the button my screen immediately goes black and it's shuts off/ down. I've replaced the batteries three times "just in case" and that didn't seem to work, either. HELP!!!!

After the firmware upgrade my camera drains batteries seemingly instantly as soon as I put them in there. Ugh.

A bit late, but hey, better late than never, right?
I had exactly the same problem. Turned out it was my batteries!
When I use Philips Powerlife batteries I experience no problems whatsoever. Any other batteries don't seem to work as well. Apparently there are differences between the various AA-type batteries.

Lemme know if that solved your problem, please. t u r r e b o a t g m a i l d o t c o m

How do i take perfect picture??whats is setting for perfect picture???

Dear Annieanu - there is no setting for 'perfect picture'. Henri Cartier Bresson said that to take a good photograph you need to have your mind, eye and heart on the same line of sight. That means: Mind: you HAVE to understand how your camera works! You HAVE to understand the relationship between SHUTTER and APERTURE and, these days, white balance/file format etc. You learn this by either studying a book or by doing a course. You need to be the MASTER of your Camera!!! I learnt this by walking up to people with expensive cameras and offering to buy them a beer if they could explain what an f/stop was! Eye: You need to know the basic rules of composition. I learnt this from books on photography and also by having my photographs critiqued. It helps if you have some creativity within you!! Heart: This is your passion! Your love/fire/desire.
You combine these three things and that's how you get on the road to taking perfect pictures. I can't remember who said it but 'every day you don't take a photograph is a day you didn't learn something'.
Happy shooting! H

I bet you can't solve this.

We have a Canon A520 and it was having all the symptoms noted. Searched for a resolution on numerous sites including the Canon Support site. While on the Canon Support site, I found an FAQ on "How to RESET the A520". Turn camera on, find and hold MENU button for 5+ seconds until "Reset settings to default?" screen appears. Arrow over to OK and press the SET button. When we did this the battery low indicator showed, replaced batteries with standard alkaline batteries. Everything functions properly, with no additional problems for the past 5 days. I guess the camera just lost its mind and had to be defaulted and rebooted, hope this helps.

1. Mode Dial not working, "Take-Picture-Button" not working.

If the camera was dropped, then it's really causing those kinds of issues like mode dial and shutter button will not work.

But you could still try these steps below:

First, do the POWER RESET:
- Turn off camera
- Remove batteries for a minute
- Reload batteries
- Turn on camera

Second, do the MASTER RESET
- Press on MENU button
- Press on the right button until you see SETUP 2
- Scroll down until you see RESET
- Press the right button to pick up on YES or NO
- Press on OK/MENU button for changes to be saved - Turn off camera for a few seconds so that settings will be refreshed

Third, if it still does the same thing, then your camera needs to be repaired by a technician.

If you want to know where you could send it, just call the hotline of the manufacturer of your product so you could get assistance
about this matter.

Unable to take Pictures

So, you're using Ni-MH batteries already, once you've turned it on and then you have to press on the PLAY button to view pictures, i need you to double check the battery type option of your camera by doing the steps below:

- Press MENU
- Scroll to the right until you are in SETUP 2
- Go down to Battery Type
- Switch it over to Ni-MH (for Rechargeable batteries)
- Select Alkaline (for Non-rechargeable batteries)
- Press MENU/OK for changes to be saved

Turn off camera for a few seconds so settings will be refreshed.
Turn on camera without pressing on the PLAY button to double check if it works.

If it does not work still, try to turn on again camera and immediately press on PLAY button to view pictures. Try to press again on PLAY button so you'll be on the mode to
take a picture.

If it still does not work, can you please try Non-rechargeable batteries (Alkaline) with your camera if it won't work with the Nickel-metal Hydride (Ni-MH) Rechargeable batteries.

Make sure you have set properly the battery type of the camera under SETUP 2 for Alkaline.

If it still won't work, then you have to send the camera for Repair.

Register camera online:
- Go to www.samsungcamerausa.com
- Click on Customer Service
- Register under Option 2 Box
- Fill out the required info
- Read instructions
- If website asked you to upload a receipt, just skip that
step and leave it blank
- Take note of the ASC address and online ticket number
that will be generated at the last step
- Turn-Around-Time will be 7-14 business days

Do the following:
- Include a copy of receipt in the box to avail of the warranty
- If you don't have any receipt, include a copy of credit/debit card statement/cancelled check that was used to purchase the camera
- Exclude all accessories when sending camera for repair
(No batteries, memory card, strap, cables, manual, CD)
- Write the online ticket number on top of the box
- Use another box and sealed it properly to avoid damages during shipment
- Check repair status using Online your zip code and phone number as you proceed on the Repair status of the website

Did you try to reinitialize? Setup menu go down to the third Setup#1 menu and make sure you click OK to reinitialize. That's what the manual said.
