Question about HP Pavilion a410n (DQ174A#ABA) PC Desktop
Hi, it sounds like an incorrect password has been used on your system and you are only given three trys to insert the correct password and then your system locks you out completely. There is however a way around this and that is, you need to open up your pc tower and on the motherboard next to your cmos battery, this is easy to spot, it's a coin shaped battery, there's a group of metal pins also known as jumpers. These jumpers will have a tiny cap covering two of the metal pins. Remove this jumper. Close your tower and reboot your system. By doing this your system should no longer ask for a password. The alternative to this is you can remove the coin battery and replace it and again, close up and reboot your system.
There is something very important to consider. Before you do any of these things make sure you ground yourself. This relates to ESD or Electro Static Discharge. This is very bad for all components on your motherboard inside the pc. Before touching anything inside your pc on the motherboard ground yourself by touching a metal port on the outside back of the pc or the metal powersupply and this will release any static discharge from your fingers. It's then safe to take the above actions. Make sure all the power is off before going inside. I have enclosed a video for you to look at which will explain things in detail. This will remove your bios password if any.
In relation to your windows password there are utilites that you can use and I will provide details for you in another video as follows: This relates to a free bootable cd from the following website with the video underneat. I hope this helps. Please let me know how you get on. Andrew
