SOURCE: Unsteady riding mower plus loose steering

Jump right in with all four feet and tighten the whole system up. You may have to buy some new parts. Good luck.

Your battery is dead. Replace it.
In the winter keep a smart trickle charger on the battery to prevent it from discharging. Lead/acid batteries lose 1% of their charge per day and are basically junk in 3 months. They have to be kept charged.

SOURCE: Poulan Riding Mower won't crank, battery OK.

Forget the safety switches for now.The first thing I would check would be the fuse. It will be located on the battery side of the solenoid. Follow your positive battery cable to the solenoid. There will be a small red wire coming off of that post with an inline fuse. If the fuse is good, check your solenoid. There are two wires plugged into spade terminals at the bottom of the solenoid. Unplug the one that is insulated, the other one is a ground. Hook a test light from that wire to ground. When you turn the key to start (with the brake pedal held down), it should light. If it lights, your solenoid is bad. If not, then you can start looking at switches. Probably will be one of the two. Hope this helps. Dwain

Steering wheel is hard to turn on cub cadet riding lawn mower seems locked up

Start buy checking from steering wheel down the shaft , to gear that does turning, to shaft underneath mower that goes to steering tierods , to tires. Oil and grease will do wonders on any parts that look rusty, or may be tight. Definately check air preasure in your tires. You should be fine.
GOOD LUCK.

I have a 2 year old Cub Cadet and I find it very hard to steer the wheels during mowing.

First grease the the axles and all steering components associated with steering, there should be grease fittings where you can pump grease into, then make sure your tires are all filled to proper psi. Good Luck...

I have a riding mower model # 96040015 02 ser. # 1001094003997 and when the steering tires are straight forward one tire is straight and the other tire is at least 20-30 degrees to the outside....

You have a bent steering rod or misalignment. Either way git down there by the steering wheels and check it out.....You must have hit something in your mowing dreams??????

Steering is hard to turn

If it is hard to turn in both directions check power steering pump fluid level. Also with both front wheels off the ground key on engine off, turn the tires manually at one of the front tires and turn with the steering wheel engine off. Check for binding (they will require effort to turn) you are looking for a change in effort.
