Music on iPod stops randomly and skips to next song

We got new computer (Windows Vista) which required my husband and I to download all our iTune music to an external hard drive; he has an iPod Mini and I have a Nano. When the new computer was up and running we loaded the latest version of iTunes (7.4), Transferred the music over from the external hard drive successfully, recertified our iPods to the new computer, and then synched our iPods to their own iTunes libraries. The problem is, songs stopped on both iPods randomly; some songs played fine, but other songs stopped before they ended and the next song in sequesnce would start. We tried the Reset option on both iPods, and then synched each iPod again; the same problem persisted, although different songs were stopping the second time around. Since I have a Nano and my husband has a Mini, and both iPods are experiencing the same problem, we don't think it's a hardware malfunction. If anyone knows what the fix is please reply ASAP before we pull our hair out. Thanks!

We have an 80 Gb iPod Classic that plays a few seconds of certain songs and then skips to the next. The unit is less than 60 days old. The songs play fine in iTunes. We sync it with a Windows Vista machine - also new.
We've tried reset and re-sync and software updates. Any ideas/ my ipod gest runing song by song but is no working

My read on this other forum that if you do this it will work: hold the menu and center button at the same time until u hear a quiet clicking sound on the iPod then you grab it firmly and whack it into ur other arm and you should hear a louder noise. now start up your iPod again and it should work!! and i tried it and i works!!!!

turn every program but itunes off. your firewall is interrupting your sync. close all programs or turn off your anti-virus and firewall so nothing can interrupt. keep me posted with results.

I want to download certain songs to my new Ipod shuffle. I do not want to download everthing Is there a way to choose which songs you want to put on your ipod?

The only songs you can download have to come from the iTunes store. Set up an account with a credit card, and you can order single songs, albums or videos, plus some free content. Some albums are sold as whole albums, but that is not the norm.

If you have music on your computer, you can download iTunes to it, and try and drag tracks by having the iTunes window open to your iPod, and the other pane open to your music. Highlight and Right Click Drag - Copy here.

The legit way is to pay Apple $38 to allow you to put non iTunes music on their device.

How do I delete music off of a coby mp829 player

I don't have this particular device. Although some players will let you delete files from the device alone, some won't. But an mp3 player should show up on your desktop computer as an external memory storage device when connected via USB. You can open it and delete music files by dragging to trash, or by right-clicking and selecting Delete. (Windows, but probably similar on Mac).

may want to check the library in iTunes to make sure the files are there on your hard drive and on your iPod if the problem persists clear your library and make iTunes find your music in your hard drive again and try placing the music onto the device once more

How to reset my combination lock number on ipod A1236

Hi William
If you have forgotten the code or put the wrong code in your ipod, you can unlock the Ipod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one Ipod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock Ipod using either (the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs). . . you can restore your ipod to factory settings using ipod Updater.
Please note that this will erase all data on your ipod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your ipod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your Ipod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted.
Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your ipod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
If you can't unlock your ipod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the Ipod, which will erase all music and data.
Please take time to rate me
