I have a Chicony USB 2.0 webcam installed on my Toshiba Satellite P200 laptop and although it usually will work locally, when I try to use it as a webcam, either Yahoo can't see it or it comes up as a black screen. Sometimes the cam is blocked by another program even though there is nothing else running. I've checked for driver updates but apparently, there is nothing new. I appreciate any suggestions.

I have the same issue as well... First had the problem over the past year when adobe updated their software. Not sure if it's directly related, but I do know that it caused some problems with an adobe/macromedia chat program that I use. Around the same time, yahoo failed to recognize it as well. Seems that NOONE around the net has a solution...please help!!

How to fix frozen mouse on Toshiba Lap top

I am not sure if you are using the built in keypad mouse or an external, if you are using an external and you are having issue, you might be having problem with the update driver if you installed SP1 on your computer, the first thing to try is another USB mouse, than can work 10 seconds after plugin it in, and you do not need to reboot.Tony

the resolution to this issue is that you need to reinstall the device driver software of your webcam. normally the name of the webcam on device manager is chicony usb 2.0 camera. visit support.toshiba.com, go to downloads and find the model name of your toshiba laptop. download Camera Utility Software.
