That model number is for an air handler (indoor unit) and not associated with tonnage. Air handlers are more often rated according to CFM and auxiliary heat.
In order to get the tonnage you would need to look at the model number of the outdoor unit (likely a heat pump). Typically tonnage is expressed in 1000s of BTU/hr, i.e. 24 = 2.0, 30 = 2.5, 36 = 3.0, etc.
Hi, according to this serial # it is a 1997 heat pump. I would need to know the model to tell you the tonnage on this unit. Sincerely, Shastalaker7 A/C, Contractor
I'm using a calculation of VxA=W. Assuming your system is 240 volts and total amperage of system with 15 amps, I come up with 3600 watts or 3.2KW. Because the outdoor temp was above 35 deg F, the electric heaters probably did not cyle on to frequently if at all. Your calculation sounds reasonable to me. To determine exactly how many KW your system is using, you will need to determine exactly how many volts and amps your unit is running at...both indoor and outdoor units if this is a split system.
I've included a link to a website that helps the homeowner to determine the KWh.
I hope you found this helpful and good luck in your endeavor! :-)
You must first remove the blower compartment panel. The filter should be in there. However, since this unit is in a crawl space you may have a return air filter grill. Look at your return grill. Does it have a filter? If not does it have latches so that you can open it? If so measure the opening and install a new filter there. I hope this helps. Please don't forget to give me a Fixya rating.
