Question about Toshiba Satellite Laptop Cooler

1 Answer

Hi, I have a new Toshiba Satelite L500 laptop. From the moment I started to work with it, following message began to appear: Warning: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the computer immediately and return it to the service. Because I have a warranty I took it immediately to the responsible Toshiba service. They gave it back saying the problem is now solved - it seems a cable was not properly plugged in - now all should be OK. But from the moment I came home the same storry began again - every 3 min. I receive the same message - sometimes even after 10 min. but it doesn`t stop. The computer works now the whole day and it is not even hot. Usually it should even shut down but it seems it is not a hardware problem at all. I even reinstalled the operational system (it is Windows 7) because as I called the service today they told me that this should help. From their point of view it is definitely not a hardware problem. Please advise what I can do. Thank you very much in advance!

First you should install an independent system temperature monitor like speed fan and check if your computer temperature is ok .If the temp is ok then it is not as much of a worry but more of an annoyance if it shows the computer is hot take it back to service immediately either way they should fix the problem under warranty.
I hope this helps Andrew A

If there is power and fans are running, seek the service method if you have an extended warranty, if not take it to a local computer repair shop or buy a new one.
