This has happened before and I was able to get it started by thawing the ice and refilling manually, but now it is not working. Is there a way to start the cycle manually? I think if it cycles once it will be OK.

Is there a way to manually start the harvest cycle? The last time this happened I did what you said with the warm water and it worked. So far that has not worked this time. I removed the entire unit and cleaned it out but did not see a switch.

IT IS WORKING NOW. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

There is a switch where the ice comes it, chances are when it got jammed so did this switch, its like a sensor that will cut off the machine.. Now reach where the ice cubes got stuck and see if the switch is there, if so play with it a bit or tap it a few times.

If not ,, pour warm water in and let it drain out..will loosen the switch.

no there isnt a way to manually start the cycle, however there is a way to reset it.

unplug the machine for at least 2 and a half hours then retry.

Hi, if the harvest cycle does not start, there is a problem with your ice maker's control module. If it starts but water doesn't flow into the ice maker at the end of the cycle, the fill tube may be plugged with ice.
If the harvest cycle is not starting when you test it and you have a defective control module, it is possible to order a new one and install it

Ice maker crushes ice but wont dispense Crushed ice

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the ice maker in your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS23H7CS, is crushing your ice, but will not dispense the crushed ice. It sounds like the dispenser is possibly jammed. Follow the following steps for a possible resolution:

1)The ice has melted and frozen around the auger due to infrequent use, temperature fluctuations, and/or power outages. Remove the ice container, thaw, and empty the contents. Clean the container, wipe dry, and replace it in the proper position. When new ice is made, dispenser should operate.

2)Ice cubes are jammed between the ice maker and the back of ice container. Remove the ice cubes that are jamming the dispenser.

3)Ice cubes could be frozen together. Use the dispenser often so that cubes do not freeze together.

4)The ice cubes are hollow or smaller than normal. The ice & water filter cartridge could be clogged. Replace the filter cartridge. Dispensing system operates best at 20 - 100 psi water pressure. Well water pressures should fall within this range.

If the above does not work, I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Turn the power back on and try dispensing crushed ice. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully.

    -Best Regards-

Frigidaire side by side with ice maker .. ice maker jams and quits making ice

Hi,
Hollow ice cubes are a result of lack of water to ice maker. This can be caused by lack of water pressure (clogged filter, bad water valve, obstructed fill tube, etc..) you will need to find the cause to correct this hollow ice cube issue. The ice maker should take on 5.5 oz of water when it cycles (2/3 cup). Mot of the time its a water supply issue and the line could be kinked behind the unit as it was rolled back into place.

Good Luck

Why can't I select cubed ice on my ge monogram fridge, all of the other buttons work fine.

the reason for this problem is a jam of ice inside the ice bin that will not let the knives that crush the cubes, and cant release to let cubes go by uncrushed, remove the ice bin,put the remaining cubes in a bucket,or toss, then check the ice auger in the bin and if theres a build-up of ice melt it with hot water, then thoroughly dry it,then replace this unit into the freezer, but do not use it until its cold again from melting the ice jam, then resume the ice making cycle

That has to be a faulty control wouldn't you think?
The cube size control should only be adjusted to
bring the cubes to the correct shape, the overall
size cannot be adjusted. Try to adjust the cube
size control when the ice machine is in the harvest
cycle, or in the first 10 minutes of the freeze cycle.
1. Open the door and remove the control box
cover.
2. Locate the cube size adjustment screw, and to
make fuller cubes, turn the screw clockwise about
1/4 turn. This will make the freezing cycle longer.
3. To shorten the freezing cycle and make cubes
that are not as full, turn the adjustment screw 1/4
turn counterclockwise.
4. After the next freezing cycle, the cubes should
have responded to the adjustment, if another
adjustment is required, do it early in the freeze
cycle.

Cubes won't dump into the storage bin

In photo below you can see the heating element that comes on moments before the ice maker drops the ice. If not working then the icemaker will struggle to unload. You need to unplug the refrigerator and then unpluge the ice maker and remove it to test these parts. Test with a multi meter or ohm meter. Test the 2 connections next to the number #26. Hope this helps, Sea Breeze

Ice Cubes won't drop out

The thickness probe should be approximatly 1/4 inch off of the evaporator.Sounds like you might have loose grids on the evaporator.turn the unit off and remove the curtain.use a flash light and inspect the grids. There should not be space in between the joints,if there is the ice will freeze behind the grids and not properly release when in harvest. Also gently pull at the grids,if they pull towards you or wiggle then they are separating. I have removed one of the grids and had the unit continue to run for sometime until the evaporator could be replaced. The plating being spotty causes release issues as well. Finally check the level of the machine, front to back and side to side. Not being level will also cause release problems

Ice maker will not push out ice cubes once frozer

That means that the evaporator fan system that releases the the ice cubes is not working as it should.

The heater, or evaporator fan and heating system must be checked, and fan, or solenoid, or element must be replaced.

Use the number listed on the owner manual if you want to call a technician.

Enter model number on this website to find schematics and replacement parts.
