Power button sticks on WED9400SW2 dryer - Whirlpool WED9400S Electric Dryer

There are two "start" "power" buttons on the front of the dryer, to the left and right of the rotary knob in the middle. The start/power button on the left as you face the front of the dryer. It is the button that must be pressed first, followed by the button to the right of the rotary knob in the middle. The left button - which I believe is the power button is stuck on. You can put a sharp knife to wiggle it out; but when depressed again, stays in. The right button - which I believe is the start button - works fine.

    Hi

You would need to disassemble the dryer's panel to check if the button is stuck or is broken internally. If found faulty then replace the button. You can buy the parts from this link--

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Whirlpool duet WED9400sw2 . Replaced heating element and 2 sensors on side of heating box ,because element frame melted kinda. dryer works good ,but squeals loudly for a minute or two , then stops squ

One of your support rollers might have overheated. Check the one in the rear, right above the element assembly. That one is usually the culprit when it comes to squealing. Also, check your idler wheel assembly (the little roller that the belt goes around next to the motor) and make sure your idler wheel isn't locking up a little.

Why does my whirlpool duet dryer door keep popping open? After a few minutes, the top latch of the dryer pops open and the dryer stops. Visual inspection of the dryer yields no issues. The door has...

The latch is shot I would replace both top and bottom. Most of the time all you need is a needle nose plier to perform the task. There are some good tutorials online that walk you through the steps. The actual latches a fairly inexpensive and you should be able to find them from a supply store that specifies in home appliance repair.

I have a whirlpool duet wed9400sw2 dryer it has power but wont start?

Electric dryer no start does nothing

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage.

CHECK THERMAL SHUT OFF THERMOSTAT USUALLY LOCATED ON THE BLOWER. for OHMS or resistance with a meter. Should show a closed circuit. Ohms WHEN THIS FUSE BLOWS IT WILL SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING.

NEXT Test the PUSH start switch with meter for OHMS. Should show OHMS when pushed in or on start, and no ohms or infinity when in off position.

If you hear a humming sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor.
Try this test out to see if u have weak windings on motor.
Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings

Another thing to check is the belt safety switch. With a multi meter.
Especially if u just replaced the belt. The belt safety switch is attached to the Tensioner and motor. IT LOOKS LIKE A DOOR SWITCH SOMEWHAT a little black pc of plastic with 2 prongs going into it. Sits at bottom of motor. Under the Tensioner. Attach meter clips to the 2 prongs on switch, Then when the little white push button is pressed in it should show continuity and none when released.

Lastly check ut push start button for continuity with a meter when pushed in the on position, it may have gone bad.

Maytag performa dryer no power

If a dryer is not working at all that's not good! But it doesn't mean you need to go appliance shopping just yet. It may be something very simple like a broken door latch, a bad door switch or even a broken door switch actuator, in a kenmore dryer there is a tab thats sticks out of a hole in the wall that allows the dryer to run only if the door is shut, other models may have button that protrudes out of the dryer and when the door is shut, this allows the dryer to run. These switches go out from time to time, also if a dryer is full of lint build-up over time this will cause the dryer high limit or fuse to blow. The fuse is located near where the blower is in most cases. When the air in the dryer gets way too hot the fuse/hi-limit will blow and the house wont burn down.

Dryer goes on by itself and keeps running

Check the start button for continuity. The start button should not have continuity when not pushed right? I have seen these start buttons stick. Especially these cheap little import switches.

Dryer starts and stops have to wait for a while then turn it on

All dryers have a bi metal overheat sensor. They are usually located in the back of the dryer near the
heater duct. They stick open and don't allow power to complete the circuit.

Dryer light comes on but unit will not power up or turn on

Check & reset breaker in breaker box.

Your problem may be you have lost one side of your voltage coming in. Light in dryer comes on but circuit to start motor is off.

Msg back if that does not work& we will go further.
