Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Download the manual below and see page 23 (Pictures)
http://www.affordableappliance.com/Download%20Folder/Whirlpool-Roper-Kitchenaid-Estate%20Appliances/Refrigerator/In%20Door%20Ice%20Manual%20with%20Diagram.pdf

1. Disconnect the unit from the electrical supply.

2. Pull out and unclip the drip tray on the ice and water dispenser compartment.

3. Remove the screws from the ice and water dispenser compartment front panel and

turn it over. The selector switch pack and dispenser switches are now accessible for testing.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Here is a link for parts diagram of your model: kssc42qks01

Look at Diagram 15; you have to take the ice maker out and take it apart to change it, by removing the Cover 18, the screws #17 and #30 and #28.

Here is a THREAD LINK that which included the ice maker repair manual online, it will tell you how to remove your ice maker and take it apart to change that stripper: Kenmore & Whirlpool Ice Maker LED Blinking Codes

Hope helps.

How to replace kitchenaid superba light bulb

The light bulb on the water/ice dispenser on our Kitchenaid Superba side by side refrig needs replacement. Easy! Right?
However it is screwed in so tightly and the location is behind the panel is so small, it it very difficult to get a grip on it to unscrew it!
We,ve tried rubber gloves, WD-40 and an Exacto knife(w/ fuse turned off!) and still cannot get this very annoying light bulb out!!
Does anyone have any ideas or can we remove panel it hides behind to get to it!!!???
Thanks for any info on this should be simple issue!!

ICEMAKER HAS NO WATER IN IT AND ICE STRIPPER NOT MOVING BUT WATER DISPENSER WORKS KITCHENAID SUPERBA MODEL #KSCS23INBL00 SIDE BY SIDE WITH ICE AND WATER DISPENSER IN DOOR

First check to make sure the icemaker is on. Most icemakers have what looks like a wire that extends to the right. Down is on, up is off. If yours does not have this, there might be an on off switch on the icemaker itself. If the wire (bale) is on, or the switch is on, then the icemaker is defective, unless the freezer is too warm. Icemakers have a thermostat in them that will not let them operate if the freezer is too warm. Sometimes that thermostat will not activate until the freezer is 15 degrees.

Ice maker will not dispense the ice

The auger motor and coupling in the rear may be frozen and won't turn.
Remove the ice bin.
Place a screwdriver or similar device in the forks of the auger and twist counterclockwise till it moves. The replace the ice bin and try again.
It will be difficult to move.
If that does not work. Turn off the fridge and use a hair dryer to hrat the auger gear and motor till it frees up.

Need to replace direct drive drum on Kitchenaid Superba side by side

May need to know your entire model # located on the inside in the refrigerator section. That plastic piece may unscrew but be a reverse thread.
