It sounds like its in a holding pattern attempting to heat the water per the selections made, try this don't select the sani-cycles nor the heater wash just heavy/normal/.... and before you use it next time run the water at your kitchen sink until water is hot no matter how long it takes if water is not very hot even if you run the water you may need to turn up your water heater a tad. It is known that appx 120* water will not burn you just become uncomfortable but if it never get that warm the waterheater will be the key.

Frigidaire FDB520RHB Dishwashers : We bought this dishwasher about 3 months ago. Today I ran the washer before I left to do errands and when I returned, I believe the washer had finished its cycle. But...

Try to run the dishwasher on a short cycle like rinse and see if it finishes the cycle.

It is likely the heater or hot water temperature is not reaching the desired level and this could cause the extended wash cycle. Feel water temperature inside dishwasher after some time. If cold then it is the heater not working. Perhaps try without Heat Dry Cycle. That will also extend the cycle if heater is not working well.

see cycle diagrams in the page 2 of this sheet. Gives you and idea how Heater Delay affects cycle times.

Model FDB1100.......brand new Dishwasher stays in wash cycle for hour and a half........any suggestions??

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. This is normal for new dishwashers to run this long. Heavy duty cycles with options selected can run well over two hours. Your machine is ok..This is our number one service call for new dishwashers. One hour to an hour and a half if average.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

Frigidaire dishwasher won't end cycle - will run on and on for hours. Sometimes it cycles through, usually it just endlessly washes and rinses. I have to CANCEL the cycle, which causes the dishwasher to...

I would say the resettable thermostat has failed. There is a thermostat which senses the water temperature, and when it fails, it causes the dishwasher to run constant. Replace the thermostat underneath the dishwasher and that should cure problem. Part number is 154290204 (I know the number off by heart, that's how often it happens!)

Cycle keeps running over 2 hours

you could try running your hot water at the sink before running as dishwashers spend most of their time in their cycles heating up the water before resuming cycles, this will reduce the time it spends heating up the water, but long cycles are somewhat common these days because of new regulations on energy use, ive seen some new models taking 3 to 3 1/2 hours make sure settings are correct like heat dry or whut not, hope this helps if not u could have a temp problem at water heater but this osunds like a older unit so u probably wouldve nticed that well before this. hope this helps let me know

What is your water temp. This model has 4 automatic water heat cycles built in to it and it heats the water to 145 degrees and won't let advance till that temp. If the water coming in is lower than 120 degrees it will add about 2 hours to your normal wash cycle.

Very long cycle time for Bosch DW

There is a recall on the control board of many of these models, butyour problem is likely not related. I have written a guide to help. It is here. Thanks!

Bosch dishwasher cycle doesn't end

Try this link, http://www.applianceaid.com/boschDW.html for procedures for running self-tests on various Bosch models using the front door switches. Find your model and read and follow the procedure.
This remaining at '1' problem invariably relates to a 'heater fault' which has usually been traced to an open solder joint on the control board located behind the switches/indicator lights on front door. See pic here of open solder joint http://www.flickr.com/photos/zenzoidman/145089572/ In most cases, the heating element has not been at fault.
I got mine going again by resoldering the joint and saved ~$300 in parts & labour. If this is beyond your skill set, then replace the control board assembly, 266746, which is used on multiple Bosch models. See this page for more information if you want to try to DIY. http://www.appliancejournal.com/appliance-parts/bosch-appliance-parts/bosch-dishwasher-control-module-266746-37/

If this is still beyond your skill set, then call a tech & supply the Bosch model, serial number, and the results of the self-tests.

Dishwasher keeps running and countdown stalls randomly.

Sounds like The settings have messed up it happened to mine a while back you need to do a hard reset of the dish washer mine was unplugging the thing then plugging back in 30 seconds later then holding the cycle button a few seconds and then power on again. Find your hard reset combination of what your make and model of the dishwasher is I hope this helps.
