Question about Computers & Internet

We've hooked up a desktop PC to our Philips 40pfl5505d/f7, and we can get video but not sound. we have a stereo mini cable from the speaker (green) slot in the comp. to the PC audio in/ out slots (red/white) in the TV. The computer is set to "speaker" as its main audio device, but we get no sound!

If you have the video cable connect via the vga to vga lead then if you look next to where the vga cable is connected on the tv there is a pc audio input socket, what you need is a 3.5mm stereo jack to a 3.5mmjack you have it on the right connection on the pc you just need to connect it to the right input on the tv which as i have said is next to the vga plug

It sounds like the internal power board is almost dead. You could search the Web for a repacement if you beleive that you have the ability to replace it. If not, then there is nothing to do but take it to a repair shop I'm afraid

No sound from speakers

You don't mention the sound card(s) in the PC nor the method of connecting to the monitor. Some video cards have HDMI connections for audio and video out to a monitor and will not allow any other audio outputs to work. Regardless of sound source interface, check to be sure that the audio source is the one that is NOT part of your video card and is NOT set to output DIGITAL audio signals.
Once this is done, select the the "add-on" or "expansion slot" sound card (if it is the type that plus into a slot on your motherboard) or the "built-in to the motherboard" type (if the jacks are soldered directly to the motherboard) as the DEFAULT or ENABLED. Set to ANALOG output - NOT digital if a choice is offered. Connect the speakers. This should be via cable terminated with a stereo mini jack - NOT a special digital optical or coaxial cable / connector. Most modern PCs will have several mini-stereo jacks from which to choose - nearly all use the GREEN ringed jack for the FRONT (or main) left & right stereo speakers. Regardless, if yours has GREEN jack, you should use it - if none have a color code, look for markings that indicate either "speakers" ,"output", "front" or "L & R". If there are no indications, check your manual. Set your volume level on the lower side, play an audio source and adjust speaker volume and / or audio mixer settings in the system tray as needed.
Only one sound card will work in a PC. Make sure that all connections are made to the ENABLED card, otherwise no sounds will be heard. Digital output is primarily targeted to facilitate connections to external amplifier and speaker system - most often like those found in a Home Theater PC setting - or a monitor / TV connected by an HDMI cable.
I hope this helps & good luck!

How do i hook up logitech speakers #z313 to my desktop i need a diagram

Phone jack on woofer goes into computer tower (should be color coded green) and power cable on woofer plugs into 120VAC. Speaker phone jack plugs into back of woofer. The speaker cable has an on-off switch and volume control as well as a phone jack for your headset.

Sound thru tv. from my new computer

How do you hook up the TV to the PC? HDMI or VGA cable. There should be a green audio line mini-phone jack to hook up the audio cable from the PC to the TV using mini-stereo phone plugs.
Please clarify your setup.

Speakers don't Work on HP Pavilion f1903 desktop

Just match the color of the male and female on each end. Plug the audio cable (mini stereo phone plugs) to the PC audio line out (green miniphone jack) to the Powered speaker mini stereo phone audio line input jack (green color jack). You will have to set the volume controls of the speaker control knob and at the PC on screen volume control panel.

My S Video from laptop works with TV however no sound on TV

No, S-Video is video only. Look for the Audio output jack on your computer (usually its a lime green earphone hole). you will need a 3.5mm to RCA Stereo output wire, and attach the RCA audio to the AUX input of your TV, and then hook it to the Earphone/Speaker output jack on your computer. Then you will have to set your computer volume at about 75% (not all the way up, but more than halfway up). Then you can adjust the volume on the tv set. (just fyi, if you have bass boosting on the COMPUTER, turn that off, as well as any Equalizer or BASS/TREBEL booster. Set your mixers and boosters to NORMAL for best sound. not doing so could produce popping or scratching in the sound from the TV, also, if you have your PC volume higher than 75% that can also cause popping)
