Question about Janome Sewing Machines

1 Answer

2 yr old grandson dropped money in the compact flash ****. We took the bottom off to get the money out. When we put it back together, it comes on and lights up, but the touch screen does not come on. I have unpluged it, then turned it back on, nothing! I have turned it off and on, nothing! Thanks Martha Thomas

How can i reassemble the lower case of my singer 2010 superb sewing machine

Most machines you have to put things together and take them apart in a specific order. Look for tabs that fit in specific holes. Also most of the time the parts that go over the motor go first, then front sections and then the back. You can contact singer directly and they can walk you through it in a live chat. Otherwise I have had really good luck working with the people at the link I attached. Good luck Sewing Machine Repair Repair Sewing Machines Sewing Machines Repair Fix...

I dropped the feed dogs and they won't come back up.

Ignore all the other comments, they are wrong.
The feed dogs are driven by the feed driver mechanism, turn the hand-wheel forward and the feed dogs will come up. (Providing you have the feed dog switch to the up position).

Singer Featherweight II model #117 sewing machine.

He sounds like he's a very smart boy and I hope he didn't get in too much trouble for it. Probably be an engineer or surgeon or something great when he grows up if he's encouraged to continue being inquisitive and to understand complicated things. They are only complicated while you don't understand them.
Sorry I haven't been able to find an exploded diagram for this. Try contacting Singer, they might like the story and help you. Or you might not need one.
A good sewing machine mechanic should be able to put it back together. Or someone with a good engineering mind and a love of puzzles. Definitely fixable if you have all the bits.
The timing between the top and bottom mechanisms is quite critical in a sewing machine so once you get it back together it may need careful adjustment by someone who understands what to adjust.
Good luck and encourage you grandson as much as you can to follow his curiosity (without doing too much damage), I think he'll go far.

How to unassemble and clean Janome sewing machine foot controller model 21371?

There are 4 screws on the bottom, 2 are under a rubber pad that can just as well be discarded. Be careful opening the 2 halves of the case, since the assembly is spring loaded. Note carefully the position of the wire bail as you open.
Your control is failing because the two resistive strips are dirty. Blow all the lint out the the case, and swab the two resistor strips with alcohol. Move the wiper arm so you can reach both ends of the strips.
To re-assemble, lay the bottom half on the table and place the plunger and wire bail in position. Then set the large ends of the springs over the round plastic projections in the plunger. Take the top half of the case (with all electrical parts) and engage the bottom end (away from the springs). Before pushing the top half closed, be sure that the small ends of the two springs fit around two screw heads.

I took apart the bobbin part of my kenmore machine and can't get it back together

if you look in the well where the bobbin is supposed to go do you see two white pieces of plastic with a red hyphen on them...one on either side? if so, take a small pointed object and pull the red hyphens toward the center of the well. put the assembly back in the machine (it will only go one way, so be gentle. when you get it lined up, it will drop in). then push the two white pieces back away from the center with your finger. drop in the bobbin.

In embroidery mode I insert a card adapter into my machine and all I get is a "communication error" I have a Dynex card reader which works fine on my computer. I also have PQ1 compactFlash adapter that...

The solution was sooo easy.....one of my online embroidery groups suggested to put the card in my Janome and let the machine format it. It took about a minute and did not tell me what it was doing..and It worked! It put two folders on my card, Emb5 and ord#5, and I was to copy the jef files into the Emb5 folder, which I did and bingo! my Janome 9500 read the card and produced a screen with my jef files in it. I am a happy camper....I don't know if this works with all Janome machines but it did with mine.
Thanks for being here to help.

Singer Featherweight tension assembly

Putting this back together is a thirty second job if you have done it a hundred times. If you have never done it but have mechanical aptitude, it may be a challenge.

Whatever you do, don't bend the check spring out of shape!

Below is a link to the Singer site with the schematic for reassembly. When placing the check spring back in place, place it in about the 6 o'clock position with no tension so that it has a fair amount of check before pulling it up in place..

When setting the tension, at a setting of "1" the tension disks should just be slightly compressing the beehive spring. "0" is almost no tension at all. Normal sewing is 5.

Get all of the parts together and push in the cup with the numbers while screwing on the knurled nut taking care to get the pin in one of the holes.

Viking Sewing Machine Model 6360

There is a white button on the front of the machine to the right - it has likely been pressed in to drop the feed. Press it in and release so the button comes out - that should solve the problem.
