Question about Ford 8340 Tractor W/rops 1/16

Open Question

Error code 39 coms up when you shift from forwad to revers and then have no gears.CP alsow coms on screen if you push the clutch up and down fast sometimes it works and then you have gears again.

That just recently happened to me. If your stick wont move into any of the gears, then you need a clutch. But if you can shift into the gears but dont go anywhere, then you need a new transmission.

Sound like the flywheel fork is either broken or bent. or that the pressure plate is bad.

SOURCE: wont idle down, battery light comes on.

Won't idle down. Indicative of a vacuum leak. Alternator should be checked. more than likely two seperate problems.

SOURCE: The gear shift will not shift out of park. The screen will change out of park but will not highlight another gear and the gearshift will just go straight down and not catch.

check the mechanical linkage to the transmission

about the guage, try replacing the cable that goes to the back of the sppedomoter to the transmission

1st.. check fuse for clutch solenoid/relay. 2nd... replace clutch solenoid/relay. 3rd... check for damaged wiring to trransmission or connector to transmission. If all these are correct, see your Ford Dealer.

Replaced clutch and now won't shift into 1st, 3rd, or 5th gear


if it worked before why a new clutch,,,(context wins, here/??????)
ok, so you the clutch is failing,
you never posted the symtoms, not really
does car start in gear with clutch depresses, or start to move
does car take off in 1st ?
or is it just moving fast issues>????
cant up shift, cant down shift
hard to shift. (blocks)
grinds.

my wild guess, based on no input is the clutch linkage,
was never adjustED
the side kicks (not sport 1.8L) all have
cable clutches, and the 1 inch rule stated here.
i bet you didnt adjust it or the linkage splines are damaged.
or the pedal is cracked , caused by bad cable.
always replace the cable first. is it breaks other things if not.

Clutch has normal resistance when pedal is pushed but I cannot get the transmission into gear unless the pick up is turned off.


you missing just a little more pressure to the clutch. DOT 3 brake fluid absorb moisture and burn on very low temperature. First flush the system and bleed.some times revers bleeding help(pressurize fluid from slave cylinder to master cylinder).if you can't build pressure to disengage the clutch check the master cylinder for internal leak(slave cylinder retrieve back).replace master cylinder.

valvebody or soleniod not aplying revers band in trans 1st gear is the same clutch pac as revers only diferenc is in revers a holding band is aplied causing revers rotation

I was driving 95 gmc sonoma was in 5th gear doing 70 shift light came on then it started to slow down shifted out if gear then it wouldn't go back in gear truck died when I left in neutral to pull over...


You will need to have the transmission control module scanned for fault codes codes first. If no codes are in memory it is likely you have a failed transmission due to a mechanical fault. You will need to test it down ion that case to repair the problem.

Hello, I own a 97 miata and the clutch goes in gear but the car does not move.


Do you mean: The transmission goes into gear but the car does not move? Is somebody in the habit of coasting the car down hills with the clutch in so they don't have to shift? Coasting down a hill with the transmission in a low gear can cause the clutch disc to spin so fast that centrifugal force throws the lining off the disc. I blew up my clutch man! If this is the case you need a clutch job to learn an expensive lesson. Or starting out in second or third gear and slipping the clutch to get the car going. Just as bad just as expensive! Most have been told not to slip the clutch, Not all have been told not to coast in gear. If you like to coast put the transmission in neutral and let the clutch out. If this is not the case then the clutch is hanging up internally, put the car in gear and let is set over night. Can you push it with the clutch up? You shouldn't be able to. Now push the clutch down and let it up. If you can push the car now it is hanging up (sticking) internally. The clutch master/slave hydraulic system needs looked at.

Having a problem with my allison md 3060 transmission


Hi mate I had the same problem with a camper once and the only way that you will ever stop it from shifting hard into gears down shifting or up is to take it into a Detroit Allison work shop and ask them to reset the throttle position and reset Un-adaptive shifts then to do an Fast-adaptive shift with the electronic tool called Allison Doc.

Ask them also to do a clutch report on the electronic tool, that will tell you straight away the condition of the box on the inside.

Thats the problem with these new electronic transmissions they force you to go back to the suppliers. If I had my book here I could have helped you with the fault code but you would have had to take it in any way to get all the parameters reset.

What happens is that when you buy this trans new they set it to UN-adaptive shifts then to fast adaptive then it learns how long the solinoids should be open and how quick to open them to have a good shift, but over a few ignition cycles the fast-adaptive changes to normal over a year or two the clutch plates wears with a few 001 and the computer cant keep up have to be reseted which is normal to them, expect to take it back every year or two to be reseted.
