Question about Hotpoint First Edition WMA20 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

I have noticed recently that the clothes are not coming out nearly damp enough or wet enough to be considered to be a normal wash. I have taken off the hot and cold inlets and cleaned the filter(not much on them to make any difference). Other than that I'm stumped. Please help.

front load washers don't use much water compared to the older top load washers.if it's filling with water and completing the cycle and you see it agitating, draining and spining, then i can't answer your question unless you can give me more info, all i can say is start a wash, watch it and see if water is in the machine throughout the wash, you could have a bad water valve or something,if it was filling with water why did you clean the screens does it look like it has a water problem?

Clothes too damp after spin cycle

Front loading washers are notorious for not spinning the water out of a small load of clothes. This is because there is not enough clothes in the washer to balance the tub during the spin cycle.

Try washing a slightly larger load with a minimum of six items or more. This is one of the downsides to front load models and no specific brand is immune to the problem.

Samsung WA422PRHDWR not filling with enough water

I find that some of my clothes don't seem to get wet enough to clean them properly. I like to use the pre-wash cycle to wet everything thoroughly then the machine goes through the normal wash cycle and it seems to do a better job. Just an idea.

I have jst purchased this washer today, however the dryer takes ages,,,,,,their seems to be water going in when its drying, clothes come out hot, but still as damp as when i put them into dry.

Hi, this is normal for a washer dryer, water isn't actually going in, it is condensating and then being pumped away.

when you use the dryer program your are only meant to put half the washing load or less in at a time if there is too much wet washing in the machine it will take forever to dry as it cant get rid of the amount of condensation quick enough so some of it is reabsorbed into the clothes and so it goes on.

so the trick is only to put in a maximum of half the full washing load.

Hope this helps.

Do the cloths seem like they are more than just damp when you take them out? At that age it may be in need of a new drive belt as the machine ages the belt stretches. You might also try washing smaller loads. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Wet passenger side

I believe the problem is a leak in your heater core. The water would run down the inside of the firewall or near it thus running under the mat.
